I need to clean some resin

Hi Nexus,
I have some grams of old cacti resin that I would like to clean. I made it with a tek similar to House's one, but for some reason the resin I ended up with it's quite stodgy. I already have some IPA, Limonene and Naphtha, so I was wondering if I could use any of these solvents.

When you say the house tek, you mean using water to get a resin?

I am currently defatting/cleaning some tar i made with isopropyl and cactus powder. I just dissolved the resin in hot distilled water with some acid (hcl), but vinegar would work too. Don't use Fumaric or citric acid as it will end up in your end product because it won't evap off like hcl or vinegar.

Then i added some d-limo, and it dissolved all the goop that would not dissolve in the water, and the limo is now dark green/black. After pulling the dark limo off I'll prob do a few more defats, then filter and evap the acidic water layer that should have the mescaline in it, with much less goop/tar/fats/oils than before.

So dlimo works, naptha prob would too, i though about using bestine, but decided on limo instead. just dissolve your resin in acidic water and do a few defats on it like it was a dmt a/b. Then separate the water and limo, discard the now brown/dark green/black limo and evaporate the acidic water to get a cleaner resin.

Or just filter the water, freebase it with naoh/koh and pull again with limo and salt out with hcl or vinegar to get xtyals.

But yeah, limo works very well for cleaning up greasy, oily, and fatty resins.

Well for my iso resin, i used ~10 drops of hcl for an unknown amount of resin, it was too sticky and did not want to weight it out, and prob ~100ml of distilled water. Then i covered it with saran wrap and nuked it just until it started to boil.

The tar was made from two pulls (both several days long) from 150g of powdered torch using ~250ml %99 IPA. I would guess somewhere around 10-20 grams of sticky oily resin.

For vinegar, i would use a few cap fulls with 100ml of hot distilled water, and stir it good, then nuke it for ~45 sec or until it just starts to boil. Toss some limo on top, and mix it good, then stir it again a few more times and let it settle. I did two pulls of prob ~25ml limo, the first came off dark red, and the second transparent orange. I evaporated the resin after separating and filtering the water, and it was much thicker, and less oily/gunky. Still resin and kinda gooey but prob lost 1/3 to 1/2 the mass. Could have prob washed it a bit more, but don't think it would have helped a whole lot. The water was MUCH cleaner, and almost transparent orangish, but it had some floaties, so i got it hot again, filtered, and washed the filter with some more hot water to get all the water soluble alkaloids out, leaving the crap behind.

Decided to just a/b it from there on out, since it was not as clean as i hoped it would have been. Redissolved in in koh basified distilled water and am pulling with limo right now. Hopefully it will salt out nice and clean with hcl.

Kinda sucks using powder though, hate that i can only use alcohols or the cactus swells to a slimy impossible to separate goop. Its either 69 ron wet tek stb it, or make a cactus/lime paste, dry it, powder and pull with dlimo or dry acetone. Dlimo would prob be better as you could salt out and the tars/oils would stay in the limo, compared to using acetone and evaporating it all getting all the dissolved crap with the freebase mescaline.

Gonna have to try that house tek with cactus chunks, or dried pieces. I'm done with powder. Too much alcohol/limo/work/time, when making a tea resin with pieces is so much easier, and a lot less dirty since theres no alcohols stripping out the oils tars, and other crap.

Thanks for the IPA tek as well, Im trying to find the mescalin tek that suits me the most. In general, because of the gooey consistency of the cactus, I found that they are all quite messy... The one which gave me the best results was LucidLemonade's one.

I only used dried cactus chips till this moment, but from how you described the powder they dont seem that better!

your resin can be extracted if you choose by bassifying directly and hydrating minimally until its a solution. submerge in nps and let the alks be recovered, salt your nps after 3 or so liquid liquid separations

or just eat the resin

if you used green cacti chips i highly recommend you make your own by finding a potent clone (achuma is my favorite) and harvesting the outter 5mm of green flesh (without spines or waxy skin) dehydrate this and powder it. rehydrate before use enough to make globs, having dieted a full day and been without any sugars, ingest at sundown and breakfast with fruit at sun up.

for best alcohol results have broken dehydrated flesh ( smaller the better, but no powder) and soak in alcohol in a container, just enough to cover the substrate by a few inches. after a day of shake and leave, shake and leave, save the liquid and put new fresh alcohol in to continue extracting. leave longer than the first, then save and add fresh alcohol to your extraction tank. the last wash is critical to retrieving the last 20-30 percent. this time add some vinegar/fumaric to your alochol which should be kept warm/hot (no open flame) this increase in temperature increases soluability and the salts are an added bonus to capturing loose alkaloids with weaker pka.

p.s. ipa resin works well but ethanol is peace of mind, and paste balls are still the best!
