Ice precipitation

Depending upon the concentration and amount of the ice and its temperature I think you can, just use plenty of ice and add salt and water to make sure you make a good brine. Then place everything in an insulated box and set aside for some time.

I’m going to try it and see. Can’t hurt anything.

I am curious, how did it turn out. I have also been curious if dry ice can be more or less effective, or if anyone has any experience using dry ice with any of the teks.

I'm curious too. Except my thought is can you literally make a crystallization dish out of ice, and pour the naphtha into it? I guess the spice would crash out quickly like snow, but I'm most curious how it might affect the nucleation sites if all surfaces are water/ice.

I'm curious about dry ice too. I was originally thinking liquid nitrogen but any solvent would freeze in LN2. Solid carbon dioxide would be warm enough that heptane doesn't freeze, but should have dramatic effect on squeezing out spice.

I was thinking of doing that since I'd heard that the Naptha fumes can spoil food in the freezer. Turns out that precipitating in a Mason jar in the freezer has zero issues.
