Guess this is like closing the barndoor after the livestock have left, seeing as how ive been smoking this batch, but....I have white crystalline dmt which i suddenly realized is "tacky", even though it is "fluffy" crystalline white; when it touches things it leaves a film of tacky dry sticky waxy like spot (to the touch). its not extremely evident but its there, and crystals kind of stick together as fluffy groups. Im worried because i didnt notice it before smoking it 3 times...sooooooo, oh shit...

STB version of Noman's tech, 100% sodium hydroxide, naptha vm+p, distilled water, and hexane (bestine), and powdered mhrb were all that was used. Admittedly the crystallization probably wasnt up to standards or wasnt done well as the instructions i used from another website didnt include cooling to allow seperation, so seperation may be incomplete? was originally evaped to crystals and then recrystallized. looked okay, but I can think of only 4 possibilities:

!). trace amounts of plant fats and plant waxes are left over unremoved by the improper/poor crystallization, lightly coating the crystals without coloring them...

2) normal possible behavior for home made dmt and available reasonable purity...

3) left over petrochemical residue from extraction process (dear god, I hope not)...

4) allowed to dry and dry and dry, then stored for couple weeks; may have taken on atmospheric water vapor, during storage? to partially hydrate the crystals??

Is this stuff very likely safe to use? my vote and hope is that it is just number 1 with little health consequences; i can live with this, how many plant fats, waxes, metabolic components, and ash is one happy to inhale when smoking marijuana?

any thoughts or concerns? thank you!

re-x in acetone or xylen but IMHO this sticky floor glue type stuff works the best for me
seems like the fx r alot more clear and with more pronounced euphoria

its the stuff i got from my first extract but i sadly am unable to get any thing but fluffy white...
dont get me wrong it is VERY effective but the sticky stuff seems to stay put not just run away leaving me with a half hit

As long as Im not poisoning myself with petrochemicals, Im not concerned with a little plant wax. And as to your issue of "run-away", put your hit on top of a smokeable, like mullein, or mint, or tea, or passionflower, or blue lilly or sacred tobacco, and under that have like 8 screens; on my gvg this works fine. So well in fact, I could pick up my unloaded gvg without putting anything in it and trip freaking balls off just whats soaked into the mullein/screens with little or no visible crystal left...

I'm no chemist but I think what you have is IDEAL. After all you were aiming for a freebase substance. It should feel waxy.

Any lasting concerns for me and I always do one or more heptane recrystallizations. But, I think you are good to go here. Perhaps an attached photo (with good resolution) if you have lasting concerns would help.

Sounds like normal dmt to me, although I dont spend much time handling it If all of your solvents are clean evaping then all is fine. Il go with 1 & 2.

it seems to do that when it gets warmer, it will start to turn waxy an melt eventually. i find if i spill a lil bit on the table or get it on my fingers it often just leaves a film over my fingers or table once ive wiped it off. the only thing i can think is cos its starting to melt maybe.
