I love the series! Not so much the movies... Check out the manga if you haven't, it provides insights into details the series didn't have time for and has some very interesting differences, especially the ending which seems to make more sense. I heard Netflix messed with Eva a bit, voice acting and soundtrack and such :thumb_dow
Netflix would score extra points for putting Serial Experiments Lain up and not tampering with it. I've heard it's almost impossible to fully understand, but so hypnotic you don't even care. I've only seen a bit in very low quality and don't want to ruin my experience that way. I was thoroughly enjoying it though, it's very quiet and mysterious, not a typical anime at all.
I'm revisiting some late 80's and 90's underwater sci fi films I loved as a kid: 'The Abyss' and 'Sphere'. Both good films that don't feel like they were made nearly 10 years apart. I'm enjoying the original book by Michael Crichton too.
Lot's of people like Hereditary here eh ? I went to the pictures to see it. Definitely one that gets under the skin. Although I have no desire to see it again I thought it was pretty good at the time. It had a sort of night-terror feel to it.
