Intentionality and answers or insight

Have you entered into an experience intentionally seeking an answer, insight, or understanding for a particular topic, and feel like you received an insight, understanding or answer for that topic? Even if it was quite an unexpected answer or insight?
Seems like DMT might aid in unlocking observations or insights either from the subconscious or outside consciousness. Perhaps this is a primary role of DMT if used for that purpose. Not in the sense of... behold the ten commandments, but more practical like... What should I do about Sally? Did you consider that if you date Sally, there might be these unintended consequences A, B, and C that you weren't even thinking about until now...

Intention is important. The answers or insights are usually unexpected with DMT. I think it presents in a very unique way as compared with some other psychedelics. Soul retrieval, searching for lost things, uncovering answers to deep questions, peeling layers of ego and exploring consciousness can all be understood in a whole new light. Like setting out to sea it is good to have a rudder and sail. The intention guides understanding and learning.

For me personally, the answers and insights were not immediately recognized or understood. I had to think about some of my DMT experiences for years before I could make heads or tails out of it. I still am quite dumbfounded when it comes to the crazy absurd wisdom that DMT shows. Integrating can be difficult and takes time with DMT. DMT can create more questions than answers sometimes. It becomes Socratic... why? and why? again and repeat until we come to some inner truth.

What should you do about Sally? It may just show you that Sally and you are multi-dimensional beings of light choosing to have a human experience and have known each other for countless lifetimes and now come together once again. Dating, marriage, kids, on to old age dying in each others arms, melting into one consciousness, smiling and then choosing to find each other all over again.

That seems very well said. Re "Sally", the observation of considerations *immediately* revealed itself at the beginning of the experience, although it had not been considered before ever.

At many other times, the insight seems to present itself near the end of the experience.

It's quite extraordinary. And it seems one is never quite in control, even with intentionality.

It's also an active effort to check oneself to ensure there are no delusions of belief or perception.

I myself have not experienced an ego death. The possibility of physical harm is too daunting to me.

It is amazing how DMT can be a guide with intentionality. It seems to provide insights to questions, sometimes direct, sometimes indirect or answers to related topic, sometimes it seems to present something not asked about, but might be more important at the moment. It's as though DMT enhances insight and observation when intentioned or queried with purpose, and the experiencer is never quite in control.
