Is my syrian extraction goes wrong?

I tryed to extract harmala from syrian rue, but i don't get white crystal. The result was some brown orange crystal. Is someone know what is it? I don't know where i made a mistake.

You need to redissolve it in some fresh water and filter again several times with coffee filters... it's full of plant matter.

Then base and manske again, see how happy you are with the results.

It's not uncommon to do this 4 or more times to get pure crystals.

Without more details about your extraction method it's hard to help... the crystals already look very nice!

A bit of purification (like Northerner said) is always nice.

Some washing of the freebase with dilute lye helps (freebase solid in the bottle at the right with clear liquid, washing leftovers at the left)
