Is smoking DMT a waste of my time and molecule?

Alright, I load that pipe with 200mg of DMT. I take monster hits of DMT and hold it in until my heart is about to explode. And then I do it again and again. I see zany fucking colors and wacky transformations that are really fucking bright and vivid and brilliant. I also feel pretty damn strange. Okay. Is that all?!!! Pretty visions that swirl and do funny poses? It's like those music players with the psychedelic patterns.

It takes me to the same place that a high dose pharmahuasca trip takes me. Except on pharma the DMT has a chance to totally twist my thoughts around, download centuries of information into my head, and make a mystical fool of me. The DMT works its magic with me on pharma, but smoking it is just a tease and waste of spice for me. It doesn't even scratch the surface of a good pharm trip. Pharmahuasca is deeeep. Smoking is dipping my fingers in.

I just don't get smoking it. Yes, I get an ego death where the shit just engulfs me and I lose any connection with earth, but it is so brief that it seems like a poor use of spice. Hell, on pharma I can fly around hyperspace for hours if I want. I don't know, maybe I am still not breaking through enough yet. Or maybe I do get it, and I am not impressed (is that possible?) and prefer pharmahuasca because I get to stay and play longer.

I don't see how smoking it can take me any deeper than a good pharmahuasca session. Can it?

Oh, I'd like to thank Spiceman for giving some advice. He said to "Smoke it like a crack fiend! Don't worry about burning that shit!" After taking his advice, I actually got a lot further in my smoking sessions than before. With his method, I get my brief ego death but still long for more.

Im not into pharma but I really like aya..2 different things though..oral with harmalas and smoke DMT that is.

about the question though I have yet to try pharma so can nt draw any comparison yet myself but I do find your underwhelming experiences smoking peculiar, maybe its just not your body and minds optimal administration technique?. Id love to hear some of your pharma experiences though.

SWIM feels exactly the way Joebono does and no longer smokes DMT. It’s a waste of a perfectly good oral psychedelic.

Now he only takes it orally with an MAOI, or sublingually without one.

Orally the experience is much more rewarding. Orally he uses 20 mg of DMT with 200 mg of THH. That mix is one of the best psychedelics there is. Sometimes he uses more DMT, but not usually. 20 mg is enough for him to have a full visionary experience.

Sublingually, it’s like oral use with an MAOI almost, but more mushroom-like. SWIM prefers sublingual use, but pure freebase DMT burns like hell. So he uses DMT sublingually in the form of Virola calophylla resin with 6% calcium hydroxide. He likes 1-2 grams of this for a nice easy going trip. It doesn’t burn. Something in the resin prevents the DMT from burning you.

The smoked experience is just a bunch of fancy special effects and then its over. It’s too intense to get anything rewarding out of it. It’s much like smoking 5-MeO-DMT, but not quite as bad.

If SWIM wants to smoke, he smokes bufotenine instead of DMT. It lasts much longer. For him, DMT is an oral drug, not good for smoking.

I know others will disagree with this, but honestly, SWIM finds smoked DMT to be a boring experience. SWIM is not entertained by the ego loss or fancy special effects. He seeks visions with meaningful content or a psychedelic outlook on life. Only oral DMT can give that for him, smoked DMT cannot. It’s too confusing, too quick, and too mentally intoxicating. By the time you start enjoying it, it’s already ending. If you take enough, you tend to get into mindscapes that make no sense, experience ego loss, and other hard to remember things that are difficult to integrate or make any use of after the experience is gone. It literally blows your mind, and then you’re back again. What’s the point? 5-MeO-DMT does that better than DMT does. If you’re seeking a shattering brain blow, smoked 5-MeO-DMT is much more effective than DMT is. I just don’t understand the desire to experience that. I think thrill seekers would like it, but SWIM just doesn’t get the point of it.

Well the ego death on pharma is much deeper and longer and intense. It takes its time swallowing me up and then spitting me back out. The experience is overwhelming and it takes care of me by whispering in my ear and entering every atom of my existence. Smoked spice is like the Walmart version - a cheapened and shortened experience.

A quick rundown of my experiences. I tripped a bunch of times on LSD about fifteen years ago and then stopped all drugs until about a year ago when I started taking shrooms, cactus, LSA seeds, and DMT. I don't do nor have ever done any other drugs or medications.

Ritual, meditation? Not for me. My setting is always in a beautiful and comfortable place where I am secure and happy and alone.

Here is a brief moment from my most recent pharmahuasca trip. I was laying on the floor on my stomach in my living room and the sun was beating down on me and the brown rug. I felt as if I were being transported back in time to an Egyptian desert and I was a traveler crawling in the sand. My carpet turned to sand, my body transformed into a darker skinned Egyptian's and I felt the warmth and environment of a desert landscape. Next, I lifted myself up into a sphinx type position and I felt as if I transformed into a sphinx. I wish I could describe the thoughts of the sphinx for you. I know this sounds fucking retarded but it was real, it was vivid, and it was not even dreamlike - it was a fucking reality. I was in Egypt for a good half hour.

Smoked spice cannot even hint of such lush visions and fantasies for me. By the way, the trip got even fucking stranger but unfortunately it is too detailed and personal to get into but believe me that there was a giant cosmic giggle vibrating in the universe that day.

I do know what you mean...in some ways I get more benifical visions from even caapi only brews than from smoking DMT...

I dont really use smoked DMT to get visions anymore becasue of the reasons ron stated...more of like a satori type of experience..there are visions there..but for real visions with content I prefer ayahuasca..or even aya with smoked spice.

I don't see it either, because smoking inactivates DMT. You have to vaporize.

For us it's when we are coming down we are not ready to yet!
We smoke one or two hits & go back into Aya-space for an hour or so, without having to ingest anything more & possibly having more vomiting.

It is much more relaxed than just smoking DMT normally, it's right back to the Ayahuasca experience, not DMT hyperspace.

It's all good--smoked, swallowed. Just do what feels right; no need to set boundaries when it's so easy to do either one (for SWIM, freebase is always ever only an hour away with a stash of fumarate on hand) and they each have their advantages. SWIM smokes much more often than he takes -huasca, but he's always so damned anxious for his next -huasca trip. SWIM tends to be a bit too active for -huasca and so most frequently opts for vaporizing (strange to say in terms of vaporized DMT, but THH really does wonders).

This is a good topic that I have been giving a lot of thought to as well . So far I am not impressed with dmt , I find it is too much like going to a Carnival for entertainment , which is fine if that's what your after. In this stage in my life I am not interested in just getting stoned or being entertained . I am on a spiritual quest , to date I find salvia and good old sativa mj better for clarity of visions and deep thought . With salvia the depths are infinite , dmt doesn't come close for me anyway .

Boomers are next on my list to try , unless I am missing something , but from the sounds of this thread it doesn't seem like it .
