is xylene a good choice for dmt extraction?

Yeah but no need to defat, use FASA method to precipitate alkaloids. This bypasses the need to defat, which is wasteful and also nasty specially when working with xylene. Salt out with FASA, retrieve alkaloids after a few days, and later wash out your xylene and you can reuse it. If you want you can convert the salts to freebase, in mostly same way as BLAB tek but using xylene instead of limonene, and salting with FASA instead of FASI. Go check that tek.

I think better salting with FASA instead of evaporation, and convert to freebase, but I think maybe even better if you use limonene instead of xylene, its so much nicer to work with.

iv already started with soaking my mimosa in vinegar for 3 soaks and 3 days each soak! shall i go straight to base then and then solvent..

Well you can just add base to the whole thing like BLAB, or do a bit more soaking and/or boiling, filtering the solids putting together the soaks/boils to reduce, and then add base (which would be a more standard a/b without the solids) , both options work fine. Do whatever you feel more comfortable with. If you have separatory funnel, definitely go for a/b, otherwise, go for whatever feels right.
