What follows is shared from the heart, without judgment or malcontent.

There has been a couple of trends that have popped up on the forum. This is meant to address these trends in a productive way and this is an open space for discourse about it.

LLM Dumps: Generally, not a good idea on this particular forum. It may be amenable to some others, but the standard here, generally, is to develop oneself by thinking for oneself. When I say generally not a good idea, I am not hinting at any negative ramifications other than a lack of interaction with a given LLM dump, because it's just that. While the advent of AI is novel and exciting, not everyone is willing to read an individual's posts that share an LLM conversation because there is too much subjective meaning for the individual posting that it is generally uninteresting to many others. Please bear in mind, companies want you to use their LLMs and they want you to use them a lot, so they all will generally try to have specific appeal to you. Be aware of how this colors your bias, perspective and thinking.

Also, don't fall into the snare of delusion regarding productivity. When working with AI on a tek, one needs to have their own familiarity with the chemistry and the processes to vet the LLM output. Sharing an output here and asking for assistance in vetting it means the LLM didn't do any work for you, and that time spent was unproductive. At the same time, new DMT teks are akin to reinventing the wheel. There is really no need for anymore DMT teks. A new one likely won't be any simpler or effective, won't bring recognition and prestige, and can be confusing to some since more DMT teks just aren't needed.

Long posts: Long posts are welcome. However, the longer the post, the less interaction it will receive. As a tip, if posting something long-form, make sure it is appealing and formatted to be friendly to the reader, meaning no large walls of text and also not too many breaks between paragraphs. You may want to edit it to be a little more well-written as well. If I have a choice between all of the current reads on my book shelf, and most long-form posts here, I'll usually choose a book.

This is all to help preserve flow of the forum. Thank you for understanding.

One love

I was preparing to unload some frustrations in this thread (in a civil way of course, you know me!) but you said it all in such a good way that I really have nothing else to add. And to everyone that may feel targeted by this in some way, please think about the following: if you really like the forum and want to contribute to it being a place that you can keep liking for a long time, keep what @Voidmatrix said in mind.

Please and thank you. 🙏

About LLM dumps:

As a rule of thumb, there should be more effort put into writing a post than the effort it takes to read it. That's why fully generated posts (particularly generated teks, when posted uncritically) won't be allowed.

Some people claim to use it to "improve" their texts, instead of generating them. If you find yourself feeding text to an LLM before posting here, just post that text. We are here to talk to other humans, and humans are imperfect (not that LLM generated text is perfect in any way, it's usually awful, but it tends to be grammatically correct and organized). No one is going to think less of your for writing weird or misspelling.

This phenomenon of people feeling the need to filter their voice and thoughts is very similar to people feeling the need to filter their pictures. It's rooted in insecurity and results in uniformity and conformity.

Here we're already assumed to be a bunch of freaks by default. So no need to hide behind a filter. Let's be human.
