Just bought 12 Bridgesii Seedlings.

Migrated topic.
I would avoid the MH and go with HPS all the way.
My cacti are under 600W HPS and they grow more than 1 inch a month on their own roots. (without grafting on pereskiopsis I mean)
MH are useless for growing, keep them for football matches ;)

I'll look into that. Will it make my room super hot!? Lol. Kind of a rhetorical question.

I just ordered 5 Pereskiopsis, and 1 penis plant. Gonna get some pictures up when I get them planted. Then I will graft 5 of the Bridgesii onto the Peres.

So I got a new set up. It's a small green house for my bridgesii with a 135 watt t5 Florescent bulb. I also got a Penis plant and some pereskiopsis. I will be doing some grafting after I get them going.

The penis plant had a wierd attachment stuck by one root to it. It looks like a seedling. It has it's own root system but it is still attached by one root. I attached a picture of it.

Here is my new set up. I cut two of my pereskiopsis in half and started rooting them, potted that little seedling thing that was on my monstrose when I got it and my other pereskiopsis that have roots now.

I planted some phalaris aquatica and wormwood (germinating).

I put all of those in a humidity dome I made out of my little indoor greenhouse. I also got some aloe and a moon cactus and potted those.

Here are the pictures of my new set up. I am liking it so far. It looks nice and the humidity dome is working pretty nicely.

the new graft is really the only thing needing any amount of humidity- a large ziplock has worked for me in the past
be careful to keep the seedlings soil fairly dry if they are in humidity
:)

Here are the pictures of the new set up. I took the seedlings out of the greenhouse because of humidity. The pereskiopsis and a couple other germinating plants and seedlings are in there too.

dont know if thats a hid, but CMH bulbs offer the closest color rendering to natural light.

Given the choice between a HPS and CMH, i'd go with a cmh if your in the market for a hid.

Do a bit of googling and check out the spectral output of them compared to mh or hps 😉

IME/ho CMH give better results than either hps or mh in any application, since its pretty much as close to natural sunlight as you can get. flouros, leds, hps, mh all output narrow bands, whereas cmh is more/less evenly spread in its color output.

And as a added benefit, the retro-fit bulbs run on standard hps ballasts.

Used cmh's for cannabis a few years back, and my partner who had been growing with mh/hps bulbs for years was amazed at the results of my cmh's.

Thanks for the information man. I will look into that.

Right now i'm just using an 18" T5 florescent bulb and a 125 watt "plant light" (That's all it said, From home depot)

Here are some new cuttings I got. The first one is a T. Peruvianus. The next three pictures are of the T. Pachanoi/Peruvianus monstrose (supposedly.) Also the last two pictures are from my BAP + Lanolin cream experiment. I drew arrows pointing towards the areoles that I applied the BAP cream to.
