Just started some Iboga seeds

Hi

I just put some pure fresh Iboga seeds into small pots with seedling soil.
They got delivered in moist sphagnum moss and one seed had already germinated even before i put it into the soil.
Anyone else growing Iboga plants here?
Its quite hard to get seeds that are really fresh but i got a really good trustworthy supplier who have a Iboga bush who has pods now.
I try include some pics even though its not much to see yet.

Interesting site/forum.
I don't like being member on too many forums but it seems an interesting one and maybe i don't have to spend so much time there.
To get some rare seeds is always very interesting and something i have hard to say no to.

Hi grower! I just started some iboga myself. I have seven sprouted so far and in soil. Four in seed starter mix and the other three in mostly potting soil. Probably have ten more seeds sitting in moist sphagnum moss awaiting sprouting. The seeds are pretty small albeit bigger than some seeds. I would assume that its nearly impossible to try and help off the seed coat without hurting the seedling. Especially since once its up on a stalk it will be most delicate and easy to accidentally break. I hope at least a few drop it without help. The seeds are really fresh so it might happen. Oh and I think we've already been acquainted...

Hmm, i think we know each other from another place.
So you have got your seeds now.
I put many seeds into soil before but i took them out of the soil again when i noticed this probably was too damp and wet conditions.
I had one seed sprout before i put into soil and that sprout died.
So i put them back into the bag with moist sphagnum moss and 2 more germinated.
These i have put in a pot that i filled with a mix 80% large sand or gravel and 20% soil.
The gravel/sand is 2-5mm in size and was washed carefully.
I put the germinated seed about 1cm down.
Yesterday i checked the germinated seed and the sprout had grown twice as long so this mix works good.
It seems the seeds are extremely sensitive to damp and to thick soil.
It must drain extremely well and air must me able to get down to the seed but not drying it out.
I see more seeds are germinating in the sphagnum moss so i probably get some more sprouts to try with.
Regarding the removal of the seedcoat it should be better if the seeds are moist so the seedcoat isn't so hard.
When the seeds are coming up i guess i will try help them get the seedcoat off very very gently, just a tiny bit each day.
I hope it goes well.
My Alicia Anisopelata (Black Ayahuasca) seeds are finally showing some life.
The first green tip is coming up now.
I hope more is to follow.
I think one of my E.Coca cuttings are beginning to develop its first leafs also.
E.Novo and E.coca seedlings doing well also.
I have ordered a P.viridis and a B.Caapi plant from germany.
It looks like it is a true P.Viridis on the pictures at least.
