A couple of days ago i read an article about a mushroom, lanmaoa asiatica. It was titled something like:"this mushroom makes you see tiny people", so obviously i was kind of intrigued.
It doesn't appear to contain psycho-active tryptamines though. The active substance is unknown, and the experience can last for several days. From what i've read about it thus far, i'd say that it's probably not entirely safe to consume this mushroom with the intent of seeing tiny people. The article stated that sometimes the effects are permanent, so the tiny people never go away. Imagine that
The mushrooms are inactive when heated and apparently often on the menu in southwest china and birma.
So while it's probably not such a good idea to try eat this mushroom uncooked, i find it intriguing that when it is eaten raw, seeing tiny people is so consistently experienced regardless of set and setting.
What to make of this? Do our brains have a normally inactive tiny people module? Or maybe there's some other mushroom or plant that can make us see giant mice...
