Lawmakers Schedule Psychedelic Decriminalization Hearing In Oakland

Migrated topic.

Just weeks after denver decriminalizes magic mushrooms, lawmakers in Oakland are set to a schedule Psychedelic Decriminalization Hearing calling for an end to arrests and prosecutions of people for possessing additional psychedelic drugs such as mescaline cacti, ayahuasca and ibogaine.

Indeed the world is changing. It's interesting to me how this is playing out. After decades of vivisection, maneuvering around profitability and now involving corporate interests, it almost seems like the things MAPS has done are almost irrelevant and seem pretty off base-at least as far as aligning itself with the community and the disdain it has for corporate medicine.

The people are taking it into their own hands, which makes me wonder v how many missteps we've made on this path towards legitimacy. Maybe we didn't have to get military funding for MDMA PTSD studies, maybe there was no need for non-racemic ketamine, maybe there's no reason for COMPASS to exist.

IDK, just sitting here thinking...

Overall good news, I believe.

I wonder, though, where DMT possession and extraction will fall... from ‘natural’ sources, and potentially extracted with ‘natural’ solvents (d-limo etc - though I do take issue with the term ‘natural’, but that’s another discussion.)

Ayahuasca is an extraction with water, but how will extractions with hydrocarbon solvents be viewed?

Just a query. :)

Many gray areas to be clarified, but great first steps, I believe. I hope a movement like this takes hold in Canada soon.

Very cool. The resolution is under consideration now. Here is an interview posted today,

Hoping nature prevails over our disfunctional culture of prohibition.

They use lots of solvents, to extract THC so lets hope it crosses over.

Yesssss... prohibition failed once lol... it’s sure taken long enough for them to start learning from their mistakes but ultimately what’s right is right. All the bs and propaganda in the world isn’t enough to rival truth... big win for us    hells yea
