Hey there everyone,
After doing extensive research into extraction methods, and this being my very first post on the forums, Swim thought he would give the Lazyman tek a shot and see if he could get anything out of it. However, even though he looked through multiple past threads regarding the lazy man tek, Swim still cannot find the answer he is looking for.
Swim will now share his basic understanding of this tek:
Mash up MHRB, mix correct amounts of lye with correct amounts of water, mix lye/water mix with the mashed up MHRB, then add naptha to the mix, gently stir mixture for 20-30 minutes and do not cause emulsion, wait 2-3 hours for mixture to sit, extract naptha layer on top of mixture with glass turkey baster and place this liquid into a flat glass baking pan, have fan blowing over top of glass baking pan, wait for naptha to evaporate, then scrape dry crystal off pan and Voila!
So here are SWIM's guidelines he will use in order to reference his upcoming questions:
Break 400 to 500 grams of Mimosa hostilis root bark, whether inner, outer or whole root into
small enough pieces all of it will fit into a large ceramic or stainless steel mixing bowl with
enough room left over to only fill the bowl half way to the top. Next, completely dissolve 200
grams of NaOH/sodium hydroxide into 2000-3000 ml of tap water and add to the root bark.
Wait an hour for the lye/sodium hydroxide to soften up the root bark and then using a stainless
steel potato masher stir and mash the base adjusted water into the pieces of root bark for 20-30
minutes and then pour in 250+ ml of naphtha into the bowl and mix for another 20-30 minutes.
After you are done mixing the root bark let it sit for a few minutes so that any emulsion which
might have stirred up into the solvent to settle out and then just pour the majority of the solvent
off of the top of the basified aqueous mix into a large flat glass baking pan and evaporate with a
fan blowing air across the top of the fluid to net 600-1000 mg of alkaloid in just a few hours.
---------------------------------
First off, SWIM only wants to use 200 grams of MHRB for his first extraction. Also he will be buying a pound of powdered MHRB and NOT MHRB that is still in present hard-root form
SWIM does not like to eyeball things or guess how much of naptha, lye, water, or MHRB he is using. SWIM wants exact measurements so he can yield maximum results.
So here are SWIM's questions:
1) if using powdered MHRB, is the mashing component of this tek necessary? Or can he just add the powdered MHRB straight into the lye/water mixture? Does powdered MHRB change the entire formula?
2) If using only 200g of MHRB, what are the exact amounts of water, lye, and naptha SWIM should use?
3) After extracting crystals from the first "pull", does SWIM repeat this process for multiple yields by simply adding more naptha to his leftover mixture, or is additional lye and water required to add to the mixture for the second, third, fourth pulls, etc. If so, how much naptha, lye, and water is required for these additional pulls.
I know SWIM has a lot of questions, and SWIM thanks you for your time. He is very excited to hear back from everyone and he appreciates all of your help and support!
