for this years festival season i built something different

the animations are not final yet, but i think it coming along well :)
the whole thing is powered by a USB battery bank, so recharging should not be a problem.

edit: i just noticed the sound in the background... that is not coming from the toy
This is amazing.

Yes please, I've got a way of cash ready I want I want I want

so when i started to built stuff like this i was thinking about maybe selling some of my works.
right now i am at the point where i think i am taking the right direction but i can improve the works a lot.
so far the builds are made from plywood. the next step is to change that and construct the outer ring from plybood to maybe some chestnut or even ebony, not sure yet where this leads me.

the other thing is, i will never be able to produce any of these big mirrors in a quantity that it actually makes sense to sell them unless someone is willing to pay a lot of money.
right now i want to focus on improving the pieces i make so that i am satisfied with them completely.

i started to see these works as art pieces although i never saw myself as an artist until recently.

Oh the mirrors and stuff are awesome as instillations, but I was totally referring to the handhelds gadgets haha, something I can wave around in my face.

You're doing awesome though, and I'd totally consider you an artist.

And forreal, if you ever start selling any of these toys or gadgets I've got a fat wallet with your name on it

Well you are an artist.

Maybe you should offer your services to organisers of small festivals or to clubs. You could decorate the stage or other areas, like entrances.

I can imagine that owners of coffeeshops or smartshops in amsterdam would be interested as well. They redecorate their places every once in a while.

There is a smartshop called kokopelli that sells psychedelic art. You could contact them to see if maybe they would be interested to sell some of your work. Just google kokopelli amsterdam and show them some of these video's.

Suppose some people would be willing to basically finance some of your experiments. Wouldn't that be great?

If I got to play with a prototype I would totally invest. I've invested in much lamer GoFundMe gadgets

thank you everybody.

i have a few ideas on how to go forward with this.
@DreadedShaman: in the future i might have some things we could talk about, i will make sure to keep everyone here updated on my projects.

here is another video of the infinity mirror, i will need a tripod to make a longer recoding so it can cycle through all the 35 modes.
