Leonitus Nepetifolia

Has anyone tried doing any extractions with Leonitus nepetifolia (Klip dagga)? All i've done so far is make a very concentrated tea with the leaves and water, and boil down to get a very gooey and bitter resin. I rolled clumps of this resin into dried leaves, stuffed into gelcaps then swallowed. Felt mild effects from this but i would like to make something stronger and more pure, perhaps smokeable. I'm thinking of trying the A/B extraction, really i have nothing to lose since i have virtually unlimited amounts of dagga and Acacia confusa; i'm thinking about combing the two in a mix.

Try it!
Don't combine them until you know what you're getting from what though.
Not sure if an A/B is the way to go, but it's a good place to start.
Maybe an alcohol extract and A/B that?
You might try a manske style precipitation on half of your acidic solution and compare.
Post your results and don't throw anything away.

Hey doc, i noticed one of your other posts on acacia and was glad to see im not the only one out here who has discovered we are sitting on a dmt gold mine! I'm on oahu and ya im finding scores of acacia trees everyday. I'm wondering how potent they are compared to ones grown in taiwan, the climate is basically the same here but our soil is definately different. I'm going to do a straight to base extraction tomorrow, have you tried this yet on our acacias? If you did what was the yeild? Could always use some extra help diggin roots

Very nice i just was on oahu, to be honest its a concrete jungle there, i am currently living on the lovely island of maui
I have worked with the acacia using an STB my yields werent amazing only working with a small amount, i still have some tweaking to do with my PH dont own a meter and working on it. One problem i ran into with the confusa and saw others had the same, is that my crystals kept melting but, recently i had collected all my yellow goo and i dissolved it in naptha in warm water bath, and instead of freeze precip i plan on letting it evape slowly in room temp, still waiting on results.

Also today After reading your post of attempt to extract from wild dagga i ground up my leaves and am soaking in some alcohol.

Ya oahu can definately get to you if your used to the country, id like to check out maui sometime maybe when i get some extra cash. I was also thinking of trying an alcohol extraction on the dagga since i believe the actives are polar. For the acacia, i read that if you first evap the naptha then redissolve the yellow goo in the least amount of warm naptha possible, then do a freeze precipitation, the crystals will stay solid at room temp. Thats basically what im gona try tomorrow with about a pound of fresh (not dried) acacia root bark. I'll make a new thread for it with the results. Also, besides hawaiian baby woodrose and mushrooms, do you know of anything else that grows out here that might be of interest? I basically just google search the names of plants with "hawaii" or "oahu" in the search, thats how i found out about the acacias (thank you uh botany department for putting placards on your trees!) I dont want to sound greedy but i dont know how many people i would tell about the acacias, even though there are thousands of them if people over-harvest their roots it could kill the entire tree. I'm going to experiment with a healthy patch i found and try to figure out how much you can harvest at one time and how long it takes for the tree to recover. I'm also going to collect seeds from the healthiest looking trees and start planting them all over for the future generations of psychonauts to enjoy! Let me know how your extract goes, peace!
