What other sorts of smoking devices have you tried?

honestly none. but my first trip occurred about 3 hours ago and it was in-n-ncredible and the device shown brought me there
Smoking out of a glass bulb is sketchy, especially a light bulb
that glass is very thin, too much heat and it will shatter

Almost any device (including aluminum foil and a straw) can produce mind-blowing effects. But the difference is in the ease, comfort, efficiency, and reliability of the device and method.h3mpmast3r420 said:

like i said its not perfect, but for purposes of convenience, it was a good first-time experience.
wouldn't that have sucked? i knew about that though i read in a different forum about that happening to SWIM
also i would have preferred the key vaporizer or the machine but i didnt have screens and its pretty hard to make the machine w/o a drill! :?

you should buy a lil glass pipe and shove some wire wool in there, they are dirt cheap and imo work just as good as the machine, its actually just like the machine just a a diff shape. and saves all the hassle of drilling holes if you aint got the bits. mine cost me £5 or under $10 and its made by roor so is quit good quality, never fails to get me where i wanna be
glad you had a good first time tho. and also glad the bulb worked well for ya, i think most people have trouble trying to light it up an thats why its not known to be so good, plus the fact they can break easily.

where do you put the spice? do you put a screen in the bowl then spice then wool?
No screen needed. Put a disc of copper or stainless steel "pot scrubber" in the bowl (pre-heat scrubber material slightly first, to burn off any oils), then slightly heat the scrubber material, then allow DMT to melt into it.h3mpmast3r420 said:
Another alternative is changa. I'm not a fan of changa myself, but it is a much more reliable and comfortable way of taking DMT compared to a light bulb.

funny story
i finally found where my drill bits were and attempted to make the machine. It took about 30 minutes of constant drilling before i finally got frustrated and took hammer and nail to it. i barely tapped on the nail and a small hole pokes through a little bit bigger than this "O" . So i went up the next larger drill bit to make it bigger, worked fine, tried it one more time... and crack, the bottle practically fell apart in my hand.
I was using an Ale81 bottle which I have about 50 more of those but no other glass bottles, any tips?

yet another update
so after an hour straight of drilling through half-inch of glass while running under cold water, i successfully got a hole through without the entire bottle collapsing.
i have no doubts that after using the machine, my lightbulb using days (actually only one day) will be over!

The lightbulb method was my first device too. It was completely ineffective. I barely managed to get a very small amount of vapor. The DMT just ran from my lighter. I had the same issue with 5-MeO-DMT.
I then went to either a homemade bubbler or a simple pipe with the sandwich method. Never looked back. I guess a gvg would be the preferable method but what I'm doing never fails even if I do waste a bit more spice than a more efficient method.
Plus, yea, a lightbulb is ultra sketchy and gives a bad setting for hyperspace IMO.

I guess it depends on how you vap it in the lightbulb because SWIM got 3 solid (bulb full of vapor) hits off 25mg of spice, as did his friend 20 minutes later. such a shame that it didn't work for you :/ .
I now agree with this completely after noticing slight burn marks on my fingers.
Hot lightbulb in hands of person in midst of hyperspace travel is not a good idea, although i did not notice at first anyway

I remember making a lightbulb pipe after my first extraction. Only minutes after looking around online i noticed others saying it was not an effective method of smoking, so I got a nice little coloured glass bong and it works wonders
I started smoking DMT in a light bulb type vaporiser. It was sometimes effective, but always an ordeal to smoke, the vapour often tasted really revolting, and could be incredibly hot. And yeah handling a red hot light bulb pipe while tripping is also a risk factor. In fact it was often such an ordeal smoking, that myself and one of my best friends almost gave up on smoking as a method of ingestion completely. I have since employed glass pipes with freebase and changa, smoked via a little glass bong, and in terms of ease and comfort when smoking, these methods are in a whole different league, no contest.

i guess it all depends if your lungs can handle the lovely harsh smoke from the lightbulb, and if you vaporize it correctly, (and if the lightbulb explodes!)
but i finally made the machine so i think its time to retire the lightbulb lol
