Hello All,

I see a lot of changes to the forum since I've been on here last. It looks great! Seems like everything is going well here.

Anyway, I'll get to the reason for my post. I was doing some shopping at one of the local big box stores and came across these beauties. I almost didn't look twice but ended up giving them a closer look.

The first one has a nice blueish gray sheen to it and looks great. I've also read somewhere that rib count may indicative of potency but I can't back that up. So do these look legit to you guys and girls? Based on my past research I'm going to make an educated guess and say these are psychoactive, or at least have the potential to be. The tag says "Peruvian Apple / Cereus Peruvianus." May seem obvious but hey, what the hell do I know.. Any thoughts from the cacti folk?

I have one of these growing in my yard. As Nicechrisman said you've got a cereus, although I cannot comment on the fruit since mines never fruited. If you're wanting to find a tricho go for cacti that look just like that but have thicker ribs. Like this;

That cereus not only puts off nice fruit but they are great for grafting as well. I have a few and they normally grow about 1 meter a year, sometimes more.

Well thanks for the clarification guys! Just glad I didn't buy it before I asked. Although I dont think I would've minded its presence, the girlfriend might think otherwise :p I have various cacti all over the house!

Thanks for your help! I will keep my eyes peeled for the real thing, just in case.
