Meduna's Mixture (Carbogen)

In the book "Thanatos To Eros", Myron Stolaroff talks about a mixture of 70% oxygen and 30% carbon dioxide supplied to him by Al Hubbard that after breathing just a few breaths of supposedly gave him a "glimpse, and especially a feeling, of another world".

There is not a whole lot of info on the internet about this. Does anyone have any theories on or better yet experiences with this mixture? What are your thoughts on this?

Not too interesting a high. Your body is wired to go into "panic" mode when there is too high a carbon dioxide content in the air you are breathing. Your body unconciously does this because it is registering that you do not have enough air such as when you hold your breath (the oxygen is absorbed and carbon dioxide takes its place and the increased CO2 signals your body to make you breathe). Meduna's mixture is a way of tricking the body into thinking that there isn't enough oxygen (even though there is) by increasing CO2 content.

Meduna's Mixture = instant panic mode.
