Mhrb stb extraction - yellow speckles in basified bark

Hello All,

Firstly a bit of background,

Doing a standard stb extraction on mhrb.

500g yielded approx 6g product.

Some suggest a larger yield is possible so the last few weeks I've been adding more lye solution and warm solvent, and pulling at various intervals, with various measures of solvent, to see what I can squeeze out.

Results have been variable, ranging from 50mg - 100mg on each pull, overall around 500mg from numerous pulls.

The main question

In my basified bark mix, a large amount of yellow speckles have appeared. They are relatively large and flat, around 3x1mm. They are quite distinctive and separate from the rest of the mixture.

Anyone any idea what this could be? I could do with disposing of this mixture but a part of me thinks (wishes, hopes) that this is some sort of accumulation of spice within the mixture, and I would hate to throw it away.

Another part of me thinks it might just be lye deposits from over basification.

Has anyone else ever witnessed this?

If it is spice any idea how to get it out??

Any help or comment appreciated.

Thanks

I don't think this would be spice as the freebase DMT should be highly soluble in water. From the photo it just looks like maybe some little bits of plant matter that have globbed together and floated to the surface? How long has this stuff been sitting?

I bet it is one of these scenarios, either lye or spice falling out of solution. I say heat it back up and do another pull.

You should yield atLEAST another g. Doing large quantities at a time is going to diminish yield. You will waste less plant material if you do smaller extractions.

I dont think the speckles have anything to do with your yield though. It doesnt really matter. If they absorb into your solvent then good, if not... then good. Lol.

Please do respond back, I have a couple 4L glass jugs with mimosa soup that has been sitting for a couple months now as well, didn't want to throw it away as I wasn't sure if it was done or not. I think I only pulled maybe... 2 grams at the most from it.. and had to have used at least 250g of MHRB. Not sure though, it was my first extraction and I was being shown how to do it from a guy who eyeballed the materials.

What does that have to do with the OP?

I dont understand your post desal. If you have a question, ask it. Also you might want to consider creating your own thread.

It's quite simple, his last two posts on this thread say that he is going to attempt a re-heated pull to see what he can get, and that he is going to get back to us. As you can see, my post is letting him know that I am interested in the results, as I have jars which have also been sitting for months. I have seen plenty of threads on this site where a user says "I will post back with results" and never posts back, so I figured I would let him know that I am interested, in the hopes that he will share his results with us. Most of my post is just extraneous information.

If I need to create a new thread to ask for his results, let me know :P
