does anyone know if mimosa hostilis is active all by itself and what the active dosage would be? swim is currently waiting to extract some this summer and wants to know if this would be a safe journey or if he should be patient

It is active on it's own, but only in very large quantities. By adding a MAOI such as B. caapi, you will have to take considerably less.

50g caapi / 2g mimosa

or

30g cold water mimosa soak for a very long time of mimosa (traditionally known as jeruma)

What do you mean by "Safe"?

swim just meant a modest amount that wouldnt have me too gone for my first experience. swim has made a perculator so would it be good to put 30g in that?

Definitely safe, I saw an article a couple of days ago about how drinking a cup of mimosa hostilis tea helps to assuage cigarette cravings. What that says about effectiveness is another matter... then again, I doubt the ex-smokers are making tea out of 30g.

And like was mentioned before, just making a weak ayahuasca for a soft first time is probably a better idea than using 30g of mimosa for tea.

Swim is planning on trying a low-dose cold water extraction. First he'll brew 30g yellow caapi, drink that and supplement with 1 gram rue in case 30g caapi isn't quite enough.

Hopefully he'll notice effects if he consumes the caapi + rue followed by 1g mimosa.

Does this sound reasonable? Can someone describe exactly how to do a cold-water mimosa extraction?

Also, I've never seen it mentioned to combine caapi + rue but it seems like it should work ok, any reason it wouldn't?
