Mitigating DMT induced adrenal response with vitamin C.

Mechanism

Hey guys, has anyone noticed that adding a bit of ascorbic acid to your brews seems to really take the edge off? Feels almost like the warm glow you get from drinking a couple of beers.

Found this paper, which studies the effect of vitamin C on anxiety levels: Effects of Oral Vitamin C Supplementation on Anxiety in Students: A Double-Blind, Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Trial - PubMed

Seems like the effect might be amplified by something in the brew since as little as 100mg can completely change the mood of a dose.

Woah, this is pretty interesting:

Paradoxically, the vitamin C treatment may work by suppressing production and/or utilization of the vitamin C that naturally exists in the adrenal cortex of humans and animals, Campbell noted. This endogenous vitamin C appears to support the production of stress hormones, he said.

Also the NIH says the recommended daily allowance for Vitamin C in an adult male is 90mg. I guess that explains it 🤷‍♂️
