Mixing containers-what's OK?

Migrated topic.

SWIM is doing the Q21Q21 tek, without lye. She is extracting a kilo, though, and cake-mixing bowls are too small!
Is it OK to use a plastic, 5 gallon paint bucket? Just for mixing - not for precip, of course.

Just do it in little bits.

Doing a whole kilo at once is very risky. If you spill the vessel you could be saying good bye to 10+ grams of spice. Who needs 10g's of spice all at once anyway?

...but yeah....the white 5-gallon bucket with the lids are really tough to get off...those are HDPE.

Do know though, that hand mixing a 1.5 kilo mud mix of mhrb/lime is going to require some tough stirring and a strong stirrer (like stainless steel)

He may find that it's impractical to physically work with such an amount. 😉

I wouldn't do more than 500g with a manual hand mixing lime tek.

Thank you all so very much.

And, by no means does SWIM need 10g of spice for herself. SWIM just likes information. 😉
It might be illegal in her country, and she doesn't take any chances with stuff like that.
