"Moses was on Aya" say scientists

Migrated topic.
Hold on now... It is only a theory that Moses was on 'Ayahuasca'. It is also only a theory that an Ayahuasca analog have been used in the middle-east. Sure, Acacia is mentioned countless times in the Bible and it does seem to have a sacred value, but it is not known if that is because of any psychoactive effects. It is very good wood, the reason for the high status might very well be that.

Geeg30: Shittim is the plural form for Acacia trees, Shittah is the name of the tree. It is not mentioned in the Bible as being consumed in any way, and there is no historical evidence that Syrian Rue and Acacia have been used to create an Ayahuasca analog. Let's not get facts and theories mixed up here...

...and don't forget the Eleusinian Mysteries. Does anybody honestly think that a thousand years of ancient Greek society fell for this "Oh, wheat is so important to us, so lets start a secret society where we all pay a bunch of money to some priests, march around for a week with some wheat stuck in our ears, and then go home all charged up" .. (yeah, right) ... OR, was it more like "Grab your ergot and LET'S PARTY!"

Think about it...
