Me and my friends are planning to do a huge "mushroom party" if you want to call it that. Most of us have done them at least a couple times, but never on a scale so large. We were planning to have about 8+ close friends all together. Any suggestions or criticisms? Could this be a bad idea? I know on mushrooms things can get pretty crazy, especially with people around. But sense we are all close I'm not sure that that would effect it much.

Any suggestions are welcome:lol:
 
I personally have never done any mushrooms yet but I would think this would be a great bonding experience with everyone! I would maybe suggest going outside and camping and doing this where everyone could be relatively free and not worry about public/inhibitions.

If mushrooms are anything close to lsd or spice in the tripping aspect I would think outside would be bossss unless ofcourse its not favorable to do such a thing. Maybe someone with more experience can help ya out :?

Yes actually! My friends and I get together regularly and do this; it's our spiritual practice!

I would suggest an outdoor setting, late afternoon early evening on a clear, warm night. Out in nature is the very best for this sort of thing I've found. We've tried to have our get togethers at each of our places, one time we did it in a garage, but nothing beats the fresh air and sights of mother earth.

We typically make a weekend out of it, go camping or something. Thankfully, each of my friends takes psychedelics seriously so we don't have any irresponsible people in our group. That's a pretty important thing to think about if anyone you are going with tends to have bad trips or screws with people. Try to have everyone be in a similar mindset it makes or breaks the whole thing I've found.

Build a big fire beforehand and keep plenty of extra wood and water nearby. A tent is always a great thing to have also in case you need to get away and lie down for a bit. Snacks are almost never an issue; once we dose we don't feel like eating at all until morning. I've actually found that common convience items like bug spray and computers get in the way. I live in the northern states and we have a pretty substantial mosquito situation up here in the warmer months, but in all the times of us doing this none of us have ever complained about bug bites.

Dress in loose fitting clothing, appropriate for whatever climate your in. I find it's helpful to have two essential items, and thankfully I've never needed to use one of them. The first which I always use is a trip journal; I like to record all the things that are going on if I'm still able to write. Secondly, I always have a copy of Tim Leary's book The Psychedelic Experience, a Manual Based on the Tibetan Book of the Dead. I keep this around in case any of my friends start to get really freaked out about what they are experiencing and I find that book has a lot of helpful things you can say to help relax a bad tripper. Thankfully I've never had to use it.

Music is pretty important, but a lot of times just listening to the forest (if your around or in one) is more than enough for a good time. I think the most important thing though is that everyone is relaxed and in a good state of mind.

Outdoors away from the public is all I can say. Yes I have done this too many times to remember and with groups that large all taking mushrooms quite often at least 1 person in the group gets restless or freaked out a bit etc..if you are in some house that can go wrong becasue they might want to leave and go walk around in public while others are afraid to leave the house and you get a bunch of freaks with big pupils wandering all over with neighbours wondering what the hell is going on..

If you go camping for instance you have all the room you need for that to take place without any problems. Just make sure you are not endangering yourself around deadly wildlife etc..

I have very close friends with which tripping is always a problem - no matter how experienced they are, the "trip version" of themselves is something I simply cannot stand when I'm also under the influence. There's nothing bad with them, they just tune me out. things people can do is talk to you while you trip, make stupid sounds, freak out, or engage in behaviours that you feel you gotta keep an eye on them; and that's a total party killer. Mushrooms especially in higher doses create unpredictable dynamics among big groups of people.

My key advice therefore is to make sure everyone knows (or at least be aware of) the "trip version" of each one of the other people and discuss thoroughly these technicalities.

I have one question though, I know we won't be able to do it outside in a camping setting as many of you have suggested, I am very sad but this is not a possibility. So are there any other suggestions that could make an indoor house more of a trip friendly place?

It is almost impossible that one person won't have a bad/uncomfortable trip and/or freak out. Realistically; and as jamie described, it'll be a pain if one wants to go out, others object etc etc etc leading generally to uncomfortable situations.

If you are to do it indoors, it is then a bad idea; don't do it, especially if you're in a small flat, as opposed to being in a big house with a garden and all where everyone will have his ample space. There is no more friendlier and soothing place for psychedelics than outside in the nature, if you cannot be in the nature with your 8+ group of people just forget it.

Well the house I think we are intending to do it at is a vacant house, hence plenty of room for roaming. And it has a very large back porch if needed to go outside on. Do think that this is still a bad idea? Because I don't want anything to really go wrong, I'm not sure about my other friends but I like to be very cautious when dealing with situation like this. I'm not a big fan of dealing with shit while I'm really high.
 
Personally Im not sure if this is a good idea. Mushrooms are not really social imo, unless its a small dose. Acid is better for this imo if you have some.

In any case, outdoors is def ideal if youre gonna do it, because it takes some of the trip edge away, and each one can go enjoy nature if they dont feel social. If you must do this indoors, which I dont recommend, make sure people have a place to go and be alone if they want to, so at least a couple of empty rooms. Have some fruits cut up in the fridge and similar things. Be careful with music, one man's eargasm is another man's hell. Also be sure to beforehand establish some limits/guidelines so that there are no misunderstandings later (dont answer the phone, dont go out and ring neighbour's bell,etc whatever is appropriate)

Unfortunately I can never find any acid/LSD around here, or else I'm sure we would be doing it. But we were either planning on getting everyone to either take a 2.5g dose or a 3.5g dose. Do you think it to be wiser for the lower dose? Or should I talk with my friends and see how comfortable everyone is before we decide the dosage? Sorry for all the questions I just want to make sure this doesn't go wrong at all :p
 
Mushrooms are so unpredictable - they are very tricky. And your group is inexperienced. "At least a couple of times" having done mushrooms before is nothing. On the contrary, it is dangerously misleading to assume that if you had 2-3 good trips then the rest will continue to be on the same vein.

In which case, you (plural) should experiment with low doses and not shoot high. In a sense, there's no need to take a high enough dose to shoot you immobile deep into yourself for a good 3-4 hours if you're in a group setting. If you all want to trip altogether as a company then take low doses and trip as a company, right? That way you can not only avoid difficult situations but you'll be able to handle them fine (if any emerges).

If all of you want to take very high doses in such a big group, then you may need to ask yourselves why you want to do this and what do you expect.

My GF and I just had our first "heroic Dose" trip. I thought it would be neat to get the bedroom all fancy by hanging all of our collective artwork everywhere and many candles. We also brought all the cushions, comforters, and pillows into the room. This was actually a mistake as we were off balance and walking was treacherous. My advice... clear pathway to the restroom just in case. I have never purged from shrooms but this time I had several phantom retches and one real one. Moving to and fro was a chore. Have fun!
 
I've tripped with a bunch of people in a house before and it wasnt the best but it can be fun if you do it right.
I would suggest taking around 1.5-2 grams of cubes, have lots of activities such as glowsticks and kiddy stuff. If you decide to have a movie going make it a funny cartoon.
Make sure you have quiet areas! Though I am not an advocate of alcohol, I have had great times on low dose mushrooms combined with small amounts of alcohol. Small amounts of alcohol, you don't want anyone getting stupid.
The main thing with mushrooms I feel is that no one can agree on activities so its best to have many options that are quiet and not distracting to the other activities. A house with lots of rooms and a nice yard would do nicely.
 
Once I shared liberty caps tea with 15 friends/acquaintances inside a big living room. Apart from a guy who kind of freaked out and turned into a couch, it all went smooth. We spent all night making psychedelic visuals with food and an overhead projector and laughing hysterically :lol:
 
I don't think I've ever tripped with more than 3-4 people except maybe once while camping but it was kind of a spread out thing where we had little sub groups. I would stay around the 2g area, maybe even 1.5-2g using a lemon tek. Keep it a mellow/clear thing as much as possible. I couldn't see doing a real serious dose and trying to deal with and/or avoid 7 other minds in a small environment.
 
I can not be around lots of people when I'm on the mushies.. Maybe 4-5 people tops and they all have to be tripping. I find LSD for me is a better social drug. I straight up Love socializing when on LSD. Mushrooms are just too uncomfortable around lots of people for me.

Vacant house as in abandoned? If so that sounds bad. You don't want cops showing up while your on mushrooms.

Twice in the last couple months I held a fry party. The first one was with 4 people and the second time was with 6. We have a fire table in the back, which is nice because it requires no maintenance. Just turn it on and leave it. I had the backlight going on in my bedroom. And a stereo inside and outside both playing different tracks of dubstep. Before we came down off our peak I brought everyone inside and we watched tool music videos.

Riding a bicycle with a head lamp on in the dark on mushrooms is amazing. We do this in my back yard.

Skittles, starburst, and bubblegum are a MuST if you have not tried it. These things were made for eating while tripping.

There's an awesome music video of 10,000 days by tool that will change your life if you watch it on mushrooms. Actually it's life changing either way. It's the video where it looks like a live on stage performance, that you can barely see. I think a bluish and red light. And it flashes different images over the top of this throughout the video. And it's like 12 minutes long.

I recommend for yours you guys take the lower dose. That's what we did. Around 2 grams each.
 
IME and IMO, Tripping alone in a almost empty house (old abandonned haunted house) is a good set.
You'll see the same applies to old forest by night on mushrooms, you jsut go nuts running everywhere and hearing weird noise that make you feel "you're not alone".
Seriously, mushrooms isn't the best socialising thing, or not with too many strangers or worst in a big drunk saturday fest...
You'll feel too much confusion most of the time.

Tripping with a good friend who also doses in a quiet place is better option.
