Music during breakthrough

Migrated topic.

I was wondering how many people here utilize music as a tool during there breakthroughs?

Music has always done wonders for me on any journey I have taken so far in my life...

What is it like to have a soothing song playing low volume during a breakthrough though?

Could a soothing song be used to guide a trip sort of?

Or what it just keep you grounded or become scary sounding??

Anyones opinion is appreciated!!

I think music changes the path of the journey too much.

Spice journeys have there own music, sounds and feeling, no need for outside sounds to guide the journey. Let the spice guide you. No need for outside interfearance when dealing with vaped spice.

In my experience, music helps to create the magic and wonder of a powerful trip. During one trip I yelled, "Sing me a story, Roger Waters!" as I played Pink Floyd's The Final Cut album and I was literally regaled by the man as he poured his heart out to me. This is great for oral DMT trips, cactus journeys, and shroom visits. A smoked DMT breakthrough is different than other trips. That experience needs no music to add color and depth to the experience. I would imagine that it could possibly tether you to this reality and keep you from bursting through the mandala. For me, I would have my DMT breakthrough is silence - if I ever grow the balls to smoke that stuff again.

Music is just like an experience. Its made out the same category as the universe.( Ever heard of string theory)
So YEs, Music leads you though your way.
But when you are inhaling spice vapors then I would not consider it.
1: is because it distracts from surrendering and such things...(Once I was all feeling goood, ready to blast off this time with music. I listen to Dorset Perception by Shpongled and it was making me go mad because it sounded strait up like what hyperspace feels like and it was annoying to me cuz I couldn't figure out what was what or if I was disrespecting the theme or something)
(Altho one time I listen to Bella by Santana and it was so inspiring. It was leading me up the light with these light beings showing me the way...one of the most beautiful moments in my life)
n 2: what Gammagore said.8)
It can be hard to focus and to keep your intention to observe yourself and the space filled around you. Study these aliens and study their world only. Our music...comes from our world. THERE MUSIC IS....brought to us from their world....so let us receive their love!

Hi Xenogears,

I used to do sensory-deprivation (blindfold/earplugs) tripping and occassionally still do.

More recent journeys have involved music during breakthroughs and I find that it strongly enhances my tendency to have significant synesthetic experiences. Personally I find DMT to be highly synesthetic and it is nice to have a foundation of psychedelic music (e.g. Shpongle) on which to build the landscapes, . . . so to speak.

Peace & Love,

So, so far it mostly seems like a personal thing I am gathering...

Some people like it, some people don't and prefer to go in complete silence...

I think I will try the silent method first and add music at a low volume if it feels right!

I find music in most cases to be distracting during strong journeys. One of my major experiences had its own amazing soundtrack of weird organic circus music. This i would have completely missed if I had music going.

That being said there are moments where music really works great and can transport you to a most wonderous and beautiful place. Good headphones are a plus.

If i concentrate on the audio aspect of the dmt experience, it grows and swells into complex harmonies. Much akin to the avante garde electronica that i make. Its actually helped my creativity a great deal. I can only describe it as loud and synthetic sounding.

If i listen to music while having a dmt session then it can be a bit overwhelming, and because i like the sounds dmt bring id rather do it in silence.

Look into an album Time Machines by Coil. It has 5 tracks that are tonal that are made for taking hallucinogens. It does effect the journey.

I find that music can help a great deal in some cases and can be quite a distraction at other times. Personally I tend to listen to music for just about all my entheogenic explorations, although I do tend to make some time for silent sections of the journeys as well.

I had a 50 mg vaped spice experience while listening to "Long Road Out of Eden" the title track of the Eagles new album, where I brokethrough into a space where I was lying on a bed or table or something. There was a female entity standing over me (although i couldnt really see her) and she explained to me how the music can come through with you. It was the most beautiful and awe-inspiring explanation of how the soundwaves synch up with the universal vibrations. When i returned i babbled to my friends for like 5 minutes, trying to pass on the knowledge that had been imparted to me.

Personally, I find music eases my initial apprehension and can be the most AMAZING aural stimulus ever on a DMT breakthrough.

yeah music has been great for me on sub breakthrough doses I just wasn't too sure how it would affect a breakthrough or if it would make things too intense :D

Im gonna have to give it a go.. hard to decide if I want to set my first true breakthrough to silence or a very low volume song playing in the background....

hmmm decisions decisions...
