hi,

i was wondering whether or not some type of spiritual music could be playing on headphones or quietly in the background before and during an experience with changa? To try and make the experience more ceremonial?
or would the music be intrusive in any way and interfere with the journey?
I'm preparing myself as best as i can for something that i know i cannot prepare for!
thanks!

whatever feels good for you. ali akbar khan, carbon based lifeforms, go outside and listen to the wind,be in silence, grateful dead. its all good if u think it is. personally i like silence during the flight and jam out afterwards

For my first trips the music was a good safety anchor to reality for me. It didnt interfere
Silence during a journey was a hole new experience for me and very unfamiliar at the beginning.
But now i love it....anyway i also like music during the trip 😁
But i think it interact with the spice, not interfere with the journey....depends on the music. I never tried Metal 😁
Like cosmictaylor said, whatever feels good for you....start some experiments!

Live Grateful Dead shows have to be my personal music choice. Just the way the Dead were able to jam into space and still somehow maintain their direction. . .each song has it's own complete or stunted evolution between different emotions, and i really think that a live Dead show could not only influence an experience, but even dictate such an experience. For that reason, though, I would recommend listening thru a couple records and choosing a good one while sober. Some of the Dead live stuff doesn't have that "spark", and some of it evolves into a rather creepy space, which may influence an experience negatively. Theoretically, listening the shows during which they were tripping, one could hope to feel what Jerry was feeling as he took a particular lead. The conveyance of a specific emotion while under the influence of LSD or psilocin could be more easily received while under the influence of a similar serotonergic substance.

World music, easy listening, old jazz records are all great choices, but music, as always, comes down to personal preference.

is music better than no music at all?

i have a hard time stilling my mind and certain music like public domain (cool indian classical band) really helps me to relax and feel better. But i was wondering if the music would affect the journey in a positive or negative way?

First off, apologies if anything about this post does not adhere to standards, I'm new to the forum. I did do a search first to look for an active music thread (made sure not to revive an old one).
In any case, I just HAD to share this one song with you guys, that has provided me many safe journeys with DMT..it's called "I See Your Everything", by an artist named Erothyme.
Everytime I have vaped to this song, I experience incredible moments of synchronicity, both pre flight and during. In the song, there is a lady singing with a very nurturing voice, saying things like "I see your pain, your song, your heart, I see your everything", which I find INCREDIBLY comforting.
One particular example that really amazed me, was I was trying to relax to alleviate pre-trip anxiety, listening to this song and waiting for the right moment. All of a sudden, it struck me that the night before I had a dream where I was stuck on a very high height and my only hope of getting down was to jump several stories onto a small mat. Before jumping, I woke up.
I recalled this dream, and thought "perhaps a sign, that if I jump, I will be 'awakened'", and RIGHT as this thought occured, the lady in the song said "I see your dreams". This immediately gave me 100% confidence to take off, and I had one of the most beautiful experiences I've had, sub-breakthrough but on the tail end of an LSD trip.
Just thought I'd share, hope you guys try it out sometime, truly an incredible song :D
