i am running a A\B tech with vinger lye than naptha . I add shredded bark to crock pot 500 gs with 6 cups water and 1 cup vinger . boil mixture for 3 hrs . lower heat and adding 200grams of lye . put in large jar and mix together well for 3 hrs . next add the naptha and mix upside down 4 to 5 times. let settle each time . finally pull the naptha off and place in covered dish and freeze for 24hrs .. when i pull it out of the freezer there a very very little crystals if any and naptha has a floating cloudy substance in it. what am i doing wrong . looking for advice .

That sounds like an A2B more than A/B, straining out the bark being the only difference that really distinguishes the latter from the former.

It may have cooled too rapidly, leading to fine crystals crashing out al at once. Think about it - larger crystals need more time to grow. You need to reduce the rate of cooling.

Let the dish "thaw out" in the fridge for a bit (until the clouding has - with any luck -rledissolved), then carefully wrap it in a thick towel and return it to the freezer. With the slower cooling, you should see some crystal formation.

Another possible issue is, if your dish is pristine brand new it might lack nucleation points where the crystals can form, so if this is the case you should scratch the inside of the dish where it holds the naphtha. This was mentioned in another, recent thread.

Finally, if it's very humid where you are you may have produced ice crystals. You'll find out if that's the case once you let it thaw out.
