Hello dear Nexians,

Last week I tried a new technique for shaking the alcaline soup...
I am using standard Orbital shaker I got for a decent price. I think it can carry up to 2000ml...
But I am loading more material on it, I am using a regular 5000mL glass bottle with about 2500-3000ml of solution inside.
I have to attach it to the table very carefully carpentry clamps or "sargents", plus, the table is quite heavy and nailed to the wall... similar to a kitchen counter. I mention this, cause this monster could probably make a standard table shake, if it´s not nailed to the ground or walls.
I am also using a large steel bracket on the glass bottle and zip ties to fix it.

This method has some benefits compared to others I have tried
Benefits:
I can mix the solution with the solvent, by sealing it with plastic wrap and some rubber bands (so it has room to expand).
This way... it will not explode from gases, and the solvent won´t evaporate.

Other methods:
Magnetic stirrer: not strong enough for solid material and large amounts of liquid.
Top mount stirrer: works great, but it´s not possible to seal it and the solvent will evaporate.

I´ll leave some images and a video.

EMULSION
Also, the problem I runned into was emulsion.
I used a STB straight to base extraction and used heptane as solvent.
I was able to recover about 50% of the solvent clean, the other remains in the emulsiton.
What can I do about it? 🥹
