Questioning

Rising Star
Hi all, Not a recreational drug user. Quite against recreational drug use as I lost a family member to them. But I am looking for answers. For as long as I can remember I have felt like there are parts of me which "aren't connected" and if I could somehow ask the right questions and find the right answers I could connect them, and become whole... enlightened... whatever you want to call it. I came across DMT on wikipedia and found it very very interesting. Is there anyone on this board who is searching for something similar who has used DMT as a bridge to the next step of understanding? I have yet to find scientific studies on the long term effects on the brain. Any links? Any concerns on brain damage with DMT?

Hi Questioning, Yes DMT is quite a fascinating substance and one that raises many more questions then it answers. I don't think DMT provides enlightenment or all the answers but I do beleive it may give u a sneak peak of the wiring under the board or a glimpse of the spiritual realms perhaps? There's still a great deal unknown as to what is really occuring in these highly altered states of consciousness but further research is bound to turn up some amazing insights. As for brain damage, no theres no reported cases of brain damage. Infact, since DMT is already in the human body in trace amounts, the brain recognizes this substances and metabolizes it without any problems. You could say that DMT is one of the safest psychedelics (physically) around. Ayahuasca which is a liquid form of DMT which lasts considerably longer than the smoked method has been used in healing ceremonies for thousands of years with no ill effects to the trained shamans who know how to work with this powerful plant. If you'd like to find more info theres tons of books and links on this site. Just click on the DMT Nexus banner at the top of the board and it'll take you to the front page of the site. Hope you find something of interest. :)

Thanks :) Ill check it out I also think im going to order that book by Terrence Mckenna One more question, maybe its on the board somewhere but I have yet to see it, for someone who has never done psychadelic drugs, would DMT be too bold a step? I have done mushrooms once in the far past, but nothing of the sorts since.

I would first suggest reading his book DMT: The Spirit Molecule before considering anything :) The book covers many questions. The book itself does not go into detail about possible psychotherapy type of use with a psychedelic. There's another book that does go into this: LSD Psychotherapy by Stanislav Grof Now, that book may not transend completely over to DMT use but it really helps you bring perspective into what in general psychedelics could do for a human. DMT is unique due to how one is THRUST into another universe/world/the users innerspace/multiverse/blahblah. Note: And it's safe! -- as far as we know other than the blood pressure spikes but you shouldn't do this type of shiet if you are not healthy anyways
