Noman's obstacle course...

My friends cousin wanted me to paste this here to see if anyone would have any help.

I did my first naptha pull, which was very promising. It seemed to be nice and clowdy, but I thought it needed more evaportating. I didn't think it would evaporate as quick as it did so I headed off to work for the remaining 3 hrs I had. When I got home, It had pretty much completely evaporated. Not knowing what to do or having the time to make it to a computer, I went and pulled 50 or so ml of naptha out of my jar full of bark/water/lye that was sitting there waiting for another pull and put it in the flat pyrex pan with the dmt still on the bottom. I placed it in the freezer. I came to get on the computer and was reading a post somewhere on here where someone said not to freeze percipitate without having a an airtight lid due to water getting in with the naptha. A sense of panic came over me so I grabbed the pyrex and began scraping the dmt out of it and poured it along with the remaining naptha into a clean jelly jar. I was able to salvage pretty much all of it i think. Now it is in the freezer just waiting...

Was this whole situation just a bad idea? what could i or should i have done? i guess following directions would be a start...thanks everyone

I think the only real problem with having no lid on the jar is that condensation will build up inside, then when you go to evaporate it the water will stick around and make your crystals "gooey" if you will.
Don't stress out though, if you do get any water in your mix, just mix the crystals with warm to room temp naphtha, separate the water and the naphtha (They will not mix) and re-precipitate. Actually, that would give you the opportunity to also do a quick sodium carbonate wash, and you'll have nice clean crystals when you are done :)
