Official Fractal Video Thread

Migrated topic.

Here's the most mind blowing fractal video I've seen.

Link

Edit: May this thread now be the home for mind blowing fractal videos from around the interwebs. :want:

That's the closest thing I've ever seen to what spice can do to
Objects at certain dose levels
Absolutely amazing !

^^^ That's exactly what I was thinking. The only difference is my trips are usually a bit more colorful. The very end of the video had fractals which were nearly identical to my last mushroom trip. Just unbelievable!

I don't know. I have a harder time relating with this video personally. The aesthetics and patterns really aren't much the same, and the fractals I see are probably not so much "fractals" in the strictest mathematical sense of the word, as are these patterns shown in the video which are true fractals that will repeat ad infinitum. The DMT space and some of the patterns may repeat infinitely (or they may not) but it's not the same as lots of these fractal flame videos for me.

What's significant for me in this vid is the specific transforming
Moving activity on the surface of objects as the camera view
Pans large areas . This movement on rocks and natural objects is
Something I've never seen captured before . It's something I've enjoyed
For many years on my spice forays out in nature. When I start to see that
On rocks I know I'm close to a full blown experience .

I understand what you mean, Global. Most of the patterns don't seem necessarily hyperspacial. Like Felnik, what struck me what how it moved and morphed. My favorite thing about this video was how smooth, clean, and clear it was. It looked like a landscape that one could just fly around and explore, so realistic.

I think the most hyperspacey part of it is the virtualness of it all. It's like that empty space in between everything is important and the depth is well-appreciated.

Amazing rendering, but too rooted in 'real' 3d geometry to indicate hyperspacial imagery for me. It is lacking the absolute mind blowing and 'impossible' multidimensional geometric transformations that make the space so shockingly bizarre and fascinating, as well as the overwhelming intensity of the colors.

Still though, there's some amazing computational power there to generate that.

Does anyone know how this was made?

Probably with a software like Mandelbulb 3D (Download here). It isn't really hard to create a nice moving fractal video like that. But it takes ridiculous ammounts of time/cpu power to render them in this quality.

"Let me go" by Mehrdad Garousi

People even mention its resemblance to DMT in the comments on youtube.

I have seen similar things on spice. One time I had a little girl appear and climb through the shapes as they morphed. That was an incredible trip :)

It took him six months to make. Amazing stuff. Mandelbulb 3d is the software used (as mentioned in a previous post) and it is free to download from fractal forums.

I tried using it and it is easy enough to get to grips with. Just need a lot of time, a good imagination and a mind that will not combust trying to manipulate those shapes all day for months on end.

The video you posted, Randomness, strikes me as more DMT-like than the one in the OP. Something about the spatial relationships and some of the particular transformations that occur.

I really liked that last one. The first part of it seemed a bit mild, but it just kept getting more and more crazy, and the last 1/3 of it was just awesome! I love how the perspective was so warmped at times. That warping was the most DMT/shroomy visualization I have seen in a video. Very cool!

Maybe this thread should become the dedicated fractal vid thread? Do we have one of those yet? I can't wait to see what comes out along this line in the coming years.

EXCELLENT idea for a thread!

Pretty cool video, but i like this one the most. Its super awesome :d

AH!!! You beat me to it indy! That's the exact one i was about to post lol.

You want to take it to the next level? Try it on 2D to 3D conversion mode if you have a 3D tv! 8)

Never even thought of that, i must get a 3D tv ASAP purely to watch fractal videos :want:

I wonder if some here are offended at the sneaking notion that these fractal videos may possibly replace one of the coolest aspects to tripping....Or even out do it ( just the visual aspect, that is).

Maybe replace is a harsh word?
