Trauma is a tricky phenomenon which can be a major color to many people's existence. The addressing of it in order to live more rich, full, and healthy lives is quintessential especially given our societal condition. Krishnamurti stated that it is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society and how true he was.
On the one hand, when an adult finds itself in a traumatized state, one can rightly blame one's sick parents and society itself. However, on the other hand, one must take full responsibility for ones own healing work. It can be a real tragedy to face the fact that support systems capable of reaching the core of trauma are far less available then profit based approaches only created to numb symptoms.
Psychedelics have the capacity to reach the core of human trauma in my ongoing experience however after quite a few years of exploration they aren't a magical overnight pill you're healed phenomenon. Trauma can vary greatly in depth psychologically, emotionally, and physically. Ceremony facilitators can be highly competent in offering one on one help or they can be the complete opposite sometimes even worsening one's condition. Therapy can also lack in its capacity to treat pain on a causal level becoming yet another profit driven culdesac filling pockets and perpetuating sickness.
I'm not sure why i am making this post other than that I noticed the sub forum and find myself one who suffered serious childhood trauma and in an ongoing state of "trying" to change it. I'm not requesting any help here but am just sharing thoughts on the very important topic of which I have many.
A guide planted the seed in my mind and heart which I iterated as the subject of this post. Neurosis when defined as pain undealt with is the definition I continue to work with. Most have some degree of neurosis and if gone unchecked leads to depression, addiction, nihilism, narcissism and or worse. Therefore one must generate some practice whereby one can move from the pain to the eventual release of it. Catharsis has been quite helpful in my ongoing process and can be triggered through many forms of therapy: meditation, breath work, respectful psychedelic use, exercise, and more.
Thanks for reading and am open to other people's thoughts on any of these thoughts
