Peganum harmala, the ultimate sex drug?

Migrated topic.

Peganum harmala, or Syrian rue, acts both as an aphrodisiac and abortifacient.
Why two related effects is present together in one plant?
Are Vasicine and Vasicinone really toxic? What defines "toxicity" here?

I'm very curious to know what happens if a couple consume "whole syrian rue seeds" and engage in unprotected intercourse (no condoms or pills).

Abortifacients will induce abortions. Unless the woman is already pregnant, it will not induce an abortion. It is highly unlikely that syrian rue would have any useful birth control properties; preventing pregnancy is strongly preferable to inducing abortion.

Wouldn't it cause an early abortion? just at the starting point of pregnancy, at progress point 0%.

What happens if a couple consume whole seeds for a period of a month and have unprotected intercourse daily?

and not to mention the nausea many people report from consuming whole seeds may kinda take away from the mood:)

making a tea or extracting the alkaloids may be a better option

eating whole seeds (not crushed) doesn't cause any side effects in moderate doses. and moderate doses does the job for this purpose (sex).

One can drink a tea as well, i'm just referring to a full spectrum alkaloid dose (not removing the so called "toxic" alkaloids).

I'm not sure at what point Syrian rue can be an abortive and what dosages are needed.

But... what I don't see here in this discussion is the trauma this abortion can put on people. Aborting your unborn child, even if it's only an egg with a sperm in it can cause significant moral trauma. This alone would make Syrian Rue for me a product that I would only use as a last resort.

And what if the abortion rate is only 80%? Maybe it's only 30%? It's quite a gamble you take there.

Just like fire, prevention is key.

Well that's exactly why I made this thread for, to discuss more about the various aspects of this idea here.

How long after combination of sperm and egg, a woman becomes aware of her pregnancy? If the abortion take place before she become aware of her pregnancy, does it still cause any psychological trauma?

im pretty sure if you fuck like rabbits and dont have any signs of pregnancy you're gonna put 1 and two together.

Also recall conception doesn't always occur immediately. Using Syrian rue as a contraceptive is a terrible idea on many levels.

An unplanned pregnancy when you're not in a position to support a child is something to take very seriously. Also, if the woman does become pregnant and chooses not to abort, it's unknown what consequences harmala alkaloids might have on the very early stages of development.

Do you not see how this is a bad idea?

The hell?

Just stop...

Why are we answering these questions.... Go to the health dept or planned parenthood not a dmt forum...

BTW people have abortions without psychological trauma...
This is why sex Ed needs better funding.

Better yet this has been my birth control mehid for years...
Neem leaf capsules. One a day everyday. It takes six weeks to build up and be effective but it renders your sperm infertile and takes six weeks to where off after you stop taking it it is a completely safe and nonhormone method of male birthcontrol and the only side effect is that it boosts your immune system to the point where you just don't get sick any more really. It's the number one form of birthcontrol in India and there is lots of hard data to support it works. Google neem leaf birthcontrol research in India. They gave it to 30 married officers in he Indian army and in over a year none reported any pregnancies. Neem extracts can be injected once into the overy or testicle and can effectively render both men and women infertile for a year.
Thy call it the tree of thirty cures. Neem extract lubicanfs are alsomsold in India and can be used to effecting kill unwanted bacteria and some viruses and will also kill sperm cells as well as render an egg infertile.

No one ever beleives this... But do the research before you send skeptical responses.

oh, well i seem to have heard that eating whole seeds caused nausea, but have not confirmed this by eating them myself.

also, this is the first time ive heard if the aphrodisiac quality of rue.

Neem oil is effective as a pesticide not because its poisonous but because it one: interferes with insect communication and two: because it also works as birth control for insects that do not have a very long lifespan but reproduce at amazing rates. neem oil has been put on cotton balls and inserted next to the cervix to create the effect of a spermicide during intercourse. it works but the smell interferes with foreplay if you get my drift. it smells like burnt peanut butter and garlic... not faltering to the lady at all. I suspect however that a leaf extract could be soaked and evaporated onto cotton balls and applied in much the same way with equal success. But that is speculation not experience.

SWIm often imagines going to high schools and teaching teenage boys to use neem to reduce teenage pregnancy... ah man what a different world we would live in....

I never tried Neem. I discovered after a long time (15+ years) smoking MJ almost daily that MJ had a significant effect on sperm count/motility. I was with my wife at the time for about 10 years who was not on birth control for the last 8 years, and then I nearly completely stopped smoking MJ. Like magic about 6 months later she was pregnant. I am not suggesting that MJ should be used as birth control. That would be hideously irresponsible. However, it was definitely a huge factor in what turned out to be my infertility. After my daughter was born within four months she was pregnant again... sheesh!!! You think I would have learned. Two was enough for me so it was off to the urologist for a vasectomy.

Kind of scary here!!... Sperm contain all the energy to create life, so one is deprivating himself so much when ejaculating, or for the lady SWIM doesn't even imagine the quantity of vital force she loose in the process of pregnancy; so creating life everytime one has sex???!!!
Maybe before thinking about the magic pills one has some interests in looking to old technics like in Taoism where the male learns how to master his semens and don't come anymore unless he wants it...

Just saying...

there might be something to that. I really have not studied up on it.
But swim knows neem works very well... and there is a lot of evidence to support it, and like MJ there are very pleasant side effects! though neem is not psychoactive!

Peganum harmala, or Syrian rue,

possibly, for some. Rue inhibits mao, thus increasing activation of serotonin and related receptors, and possibly some other feel good neurotramsmitters like dopamine and norepinephrine. This usually results in an increased sense of well being, which for some may find increase feelings of intimacy. However, on higher doses, maoi's can reduce sex drive, reduce sexual sensations in the gonads, and ability to maintain erection and acheive orgasm. This is why pretty much all anti depressants list possible side effects as decreased sex drive, or increased sex drive. Some might consider maoi's an aphrodisiac, but others might think of it as the opposite. It's probably more likely to be an "aphrodisiac" in lower doses. Plus, harmine in caapi is probably a better candidate for aphrodisiac than the harmaline in Syrian Rue. The harmaloids are certainly not the ULTIMATE sex drug. lol. Also, I don't like the word drug here. Syrian Rue is a sacred plant.

The ultimate sex drug is testosterone.
