Perception of time in Dmt and other psychedelics...?

From my experience and from accounts of different people there seems to be some tribal or prehistoric icons/motifs inside the dmt trip. I am not saying that all the trip can be associated with a time in history, but it seems that Mayan/Aztec/Incan iconography can sometimes be observed. Also on ayahuasca people report seeing Amazonian jungle animals.


I wonder why these specific iconography and not say other historical iconography - like middle ages, 19th century
etc.

Although I am sure no one is able to fully explain this
I wonder if anyone has some theories or has run into theories that address this?

I think it can be wrapped up infinitely simply.

Everything that ever was, is, and will be exists within consciousness.
Consciousness acts as an all possibility engine and scaffolding.
Time and space only exist the way that we see it to us and us alone.

You can experience any of this in hyperspace (delineated consciousness). Sometimes there is a localized effect (earth) other times its completely out of this world and time. Do not think this excludes the middle ages or 19th century because it doesn't. What you begin to see here is a harmonic resonance between frequency of usage in a culture and its influence upon them. Clearly there are those who have made more use out of remembering what we are and what we come from than others.

The other thing is we are not the only ones that are using hyperpsace and consciousness. You see beings that are conscious from single celled organisms to seaweed and fish, and then you see those who are millions of years ahead of us and that have mastered and hacked the very source that feeds our souls. We can meld with what has been and what will be. All eyes are options in this mode.

It's all there and for reasons we can't even begin to imagine.
This is just how I like like look at it!

It's possible, but this is quite the chicken and the egg situation. I've seen a lot of this cultural imagery, and to me it's not at all clear or conclusive one way or the other. I think part of the evidence that suggests you may be right would be that DMT's geometry and mechanics practically seemed geared to creating some of these cultural motifs. Probably the culture I've been exposed to the most in hyperspace would have to be the Egyptians. I've had some distinct experiences where it is cleverly revealed that rather sophisticated or intricate Egyptian art motifs such as the splayed feathers or the geometry that creates the Pharaoh "King Tut-style" sarcophagus can be created out of the most basic of DMT geometries, and with considerably fewer shapes than one might expect. In addition to the Mayan/Aztec/Incan that you outline, I've also seen Hindu, Buddhist and Kabbala visions.

On the other hand, House makes a good point as well. In hyperspace I've seen what looks like the past with its ancient cultures, the present with modern furniture, modern technology such as cogs and gears and the like, and then futuristic elements as well. This further obscures the chicken and the egg confusion.

To the OP, I have seen medieval elements as well. I've seen what seems to be medieval fortresses as well as some chapel areas that are reminiscent of the time. I think something significant that I have not seen include pop icon figures (ranging anywhere from comic book/cartoon/tv characters to influential musicians) or acquaintances or family members. It seems to suggest to me that there is indeed something about these cultures that are represented for in hyperspace as being significant as opposed to simply synthesizing visual data from memories and personal history.

Interesting.

I would like to believe that it takes everything that is consciousness into account, but then the problem is that definitely there are more people thinking about facebook and social networking and hollywood than were egyptians or mayans alive. But for some reason I doubt I will see the facebook logo on dmt.

The chicken or the egg issue is true, maybe ancient cultures were inspired by dmt trips of some kind and hence their art and iconography looks like a dmt trip, not the other way around.

maybe the dmt itself carries its own history, and since most people that have used it were from ancient times...?


But still for me 80% of the trip is alien and usually foreign but sometimes I get weird ancient visions, specially if I open my eyes.

I guess the way to better understand this would be to start a thread were people can post the recognizable symbols that they see when they are on dmt. then we can have long list of items or iconography, motifs etc, and compare.

I wonder how wide the spectrum would be..

It's a neat idea, especially if you can only post cultural art of things you've seen yourself. A bunch of things are already springing to my mind. I think you should make that thread.
