petition for cacti (and "other entheogens") subforums

WE SURE DO LOVE DMT, but what about our beloved mescaline cacti?

its occurred to me that there are 3 different dmt categories (*s) and 13 subforums (-'s) for dmt, thats alot of organization for just one compound!

this is what we have for dmt...


*GENERAL DMT
-Information/General Discussions
-Quality experience reports
-DMT Experiences

* PREPARATIONS AND METHODS OF ADMINISTRATION
-Changa
-Smoking
-Ayahuasca
-Pharmahuasca
-Other

*DMT EXTRACTION
-A/B
-STB
-Fumaric Acid and Salt-precipitation
-Advanced/Enhanced chemistry
-DMT Allies extraction

and then we come to mescaline/cactus weve got this

*Other Entheogens
-cactus


this is a little restricted and often results in posts in the dmt sections like "enhanced/ advanced chemistry" and "fumaric acid and salt-precipitation"
because of these misplaced posts, while trying to be solved in its related chemical approach section, they are often overlooked or unaddressed by the rest of the cactus community.


i suggest we do the following:
we move cacti out of the other entheogens subforum and into a category of its own with subsequent forums to look like this

*CACTI

*general cacti
-cultivation/botanical information ( everything about living trichs n lophs)
-quality experience reports (for truly awesome yarns)
-cacti/mescaline experiences (your day to day update on nexian experiences)

* preparations/extractions
-teas /resins (brews n booze)
-a/b / drytek (typical salting extractions)
-other (alternate techniques)

*mescaline and allies
-bioanalysis (all your serious science analysis plus extraction logs of cacti to document potency)
-recrystalization/cleaning/ alkaloid separation (alkaloids and what to do with them)


i think that this just about covers it, and offers a room for expansion within our cacti section. ive often joked about this site being more the cactus nexus for me than dmt, now it has the opportunity to really grow


your thoughts?

and of course id be glad to help reorganize all those lost genuine cacti threads

how can i help organize the 33 pages of threads into these categories,

should i just start making a thread for each category with subsequent cactus threads that should go to the categories in question

You can help by doing that indeed. And if you please will include the link to that thread then it would be even better. :)

Though please wait like half an hour since I will do some of them quickly on sight.

i dont know if this is possible but having a recent posts section under the 4 subforums with culmulative recent activity may solve this issue, much like how on the front page there are the sites recent posts
 
Wow. This is awesome. I half-expected this idea to be shot down, but I'm glad it wasn't. It looks sooo good so far.

If there are equivalently awesome forums out there that are dedicated to each of these other entheogens, I would be very interested in checking them out. I sometimes wonder why this site doesn't have more of a relationship with other online psychedelic communities, but that's another topic (and maybe it does, for all I know).
 
it seems many members are member here and the ayahuasca forums, corroboree, and the nook... but they arent like this forum, this forum is unique in the sense that its very down to the nitty gritty, and is great for problem solving when a member is having issues along thier way.

i love this forum and am so glad we can appreciate other entheogens here too. this community is amazing, there is just so much to learn!

This is an excellent addition, for me as a relative n00b on the cactus front it makes accessing info on cultivation and preparation far easier.

That's great - I was going to say something similar. So we can just click and get all cacti posts without drilling down to the next level of categorisation?

(I've just spent the last few weeks reading nearly every thread in the cacti section :d . Great resource although admittedly you learn after a while that different posters have different signal-to-noise ratios.)
 
For mushrooms, the shroomery is a wealth of info, but sometimes folks there can get downright mean. Other sites have similarly temperamental personalities

That's the beauty of the Nexus, kinder, gentler, mellower. So it'll be good to develop the mushroom section as well as the other entheogen categories, because regardless of other sites supporting knowledge of these compounds, none possess the grace and good vibes of this place :)
 
I'll peruse around Shroomery and see what that's like, though I've never actually used mushrooms. I've done 4-aco-dmt a few times and I'm told by friends who have done shrooms that it's basically the same experience. Maybe someone here can verify that. But yeah, Shroomery is a big one that I forgot about. The more I look for psychedelic forums, the more I realize how rare the sense of community is that we have here. I'm surprised but, as I've found thus far, nothing else comes close to being as informed, helpful, and intellectual as this forum.
 
The shroomery has good people like any forum, but the general vibe there is less mature approach to psychedelics than this place. Still valuable info can be found.

I think this is an amazing idea, thanks to the trav and mew!!!!
