ph during LSA-LSH conversion

When the supposed conversion of LSA to LSH with acetaldehyde is taking place is the product LSH freebase? Could I possibly add a little tartric or citric acid and it would make the LSH into a salt as it forms, thus making it more stable?

First of all you have to show evidence that LSH is being formed in the first place, because AFAIK so far there hasnt been any (appart from subjective uncontrolled bioassays). I would love to hear results of double blind tests with this.

Anyways lets say it did form LSH, I dont know if one could form a salt with it, we'll have to wait for one of the experts to answer

bump. Ive been reading around and found a few subjective reports stating that lemon juice was added for the "LSH" conversion. One that stood out was from a lone-poster at the shroomerie:

]OK to help out every motherfuker out there for a simple lsh syn from seeds. all you do is mix a polar solvent, lower ph to 4 with acid, and add acetelhyde. then mix at low temp. in other word go to your grocery store get peppermint extract like adams extract add lemon juice add a lil bit of more peppermint oil not the extract with alcohol mix all up crush seeds drop in wait at least 12 hours you dont have to swallow just let it sit in your mouth for about 30-45 min. spit and trip to look at pictures of ingrideints you can go to google images type in adams extract peppermint oil the one in a glass vial with a clear liquid. and for lemon juice type in muthafukin lemon juice. for the seeds type in hawain babby wood rose seeds u can use 5-infinitey because lsh is body friendly and more trippy

I realize this is totally subjective but to me this guy seems to know from personal experience what works.

I don't understand the part highlighted in red. I thought the oil WAS the extract. :?

SWIM will certainly try this out and report back here.

based on his write-up, i can tell he has no idea what he's doing, aside from making a more palatable LSA tea.
I doubt he could even scrawl the reaction scheme for the conversion, much less execute it;
and HBWR seeds already have LSH

btw... peppermint oil is mostly menthol/menthone and camphor. the former compounds bind TRPM8 receptors (analogous to the TRPV1 nociceptors which respond to heat), giving a cooling and anti-irritant effect. it also activates the kappa-opiod receptors, making it an analgesic. it should be no surprise it would feel different than a plain LSA extract.
