Phalaris farmin'

I grow Tanit outdoors in a seperate farm to avoid contamination with other phalaris aquatica i have

I live in a semi arid Mediterranean region where aquatica dosent grow naturally so i have no concerns of contaminating the cultivar genetics so long as it's grown in a seperate place of its own.

To avoid cross pollination between Aquatica cultivars/strains the minimum distance required is 350 meters according to one research paper i read.. the same paper proved that pollen isolation non woven fabric by PBS international ® manufactured specifically for breeding of grass species is highly efficient as pollen barrier if you want to grow multiple strains adjacent to each other.
Understood, thanks for clesaring that up, sometimes one forgets not everyone around the forums grow in the same regions with the same species present.

Great thread and very imformative... I definitly should have invested more time into growing my Aquatica clones when I had them years ago.

I can still provide Tanit but also will have much more potent selected DMT and 5-meo-dmt hybrid seeds from the breeding programme very soon..

Including seeds from the DMT clone I posted in this thread above. There will be no shortage of potent seeds in the community from now on

Just keep watering those flowering seedlings once they shed seeds they'll revert back to vegetative growth so long as the pots don't dry out completely.

Put them in a greenhouse if the humidity drops too low outside (low humidity and strong sunlight are cues to trigger summer dormancy) you can also add a mesh net over the greenhouse for lower sun strength.

The expression of summer dormancy vary between aquatica strains based on geographical origin. AQ1 is from northern Italy near borders with Poland so summers are humid which means it has weak summer dormancy expression (easier to manage AQ1 in your climate)

Tanit is from north Africa a region with very hot long dry summer so dormancy expression is much more pronounced and it takes more to convince Tanit to grow vegetatively through summer but still possible.

The stronger the summer dormancy expression the earlier the strain flowers. That's why in our breeding project we're focusing on breeding a cultivar for northern climates which entails selection for:
-late flowering
-weak summer dormancy expression
-high water logging tolerance (anaerobic conditions)
-cold winter hardiness (strong winter dormancy expression)

All these expressions fortunately exists in CV advanced GT from Australia. Plus it has the plus feature of seed retention for Higher seed yield.
