At the risk of seeming self-serving, I'd like to bring up the subject of poetry and spiritualistic journeys. You see a lot of art and music being produced relative to the psychedelic realms, but I've yet to see much poetry stemming from these other worlds. Does anyone have any personal examples to contribute, or even just something they have read and like? I believe metaphor is the most powerful tool in language and I think there is much to be explored here.
I'll start with a poem I constructed earlier this year. (I told you I was going to risk seeming self-serving - bad ego, I thought I got rid of you!
) This was before I had even heard of DMT, yet alone tried it. It was shortly after experiencing my first peak experience out of the blue, and was originally in reference to dreams. But, reading over it, it fits the DMT experience quite well too!
Unifying Dreams
Ethereal minds orbit 'round me,
Thoughts rebounding, rippling, rolling.
Amidst the darkness, light converges,
Faint forms fledged from fostered urges.
What ventures wait in this dreamworld,
What wondrous wisdom will be remade?
Throughout the night, we'll dance unhindered,
Severing the security of sense's charade.
Mocking order, no rules existed.
What was up is down, once right is sown.
Separate thoughts entwined and twisted,
Contrive a line like a force unknown.
Alas, this perfect world can't last,
As conscious minds can't forever fast,
Yet from these dreams ideas align,
Unifying all with a combined One mind.
