POH for extration. DCM

most teks i see ask for so much sodium hydroxide like for example the BLAB asks for 250grams in only a couple liters. thats 14+ poh for this tek more doesnt hurt.

swim is currently soaking mhrb in distilled vinegar. In previous runs pulling with DCM from a very basic solution yielded dmt but oily. swim purchased n-heptane to re-x, but would adjusting to a 12-13 ph also help with this issue. with my calculations for 2.7litters of acetic acid swim would only need 11grams of hydroxide to bring the the poh up to 13. would this be recommend or just go for like 100grams and make a 14+ ph?

yeah you don't need much lye for a ph of 12.. i've gotten it fine with like 7g lye.. i usually use about 15g these days. i think the excessive amount used is more for stb teks.. with A/B its not neccesary

Do you actually mean <0 poh, instead of 14+ poh? :d You will need a strong acid for a 14+ poh.

And is there a particular reason why you use the poh scale? are you trying to make things more obscure/confusing for the others or that is just blatant smartassery??

Anyway yes you might get away with it, if it is a bark-less basic phase tek you're doing, otherwise I'd just chuck a load in as usual. And add a spoon or two of salt.

The acetic acid would have to be very dilute for 11g of NaOH to bring the pH to a high enough level. For the pOH to be 13 yea probably not very much, but pOH of 13 won't pull anything.

ph is in regards to hydronium ions, and poh is in regards to hydroxide ions. lower than 7 is ph higher than 7 poh and i have the particular feels as 12.5ph pulled hardly anything in my first few pulls with dcm. i feel i used to much vinegar to rootbark. this will take awhile this tek.
