pom pom tek / anne halonium

Migrated topic.
Hello Anne! Good to see ya in here. I thought you was retired. I should have known better!
Welcome to the Nexus!

Imma gonna answer some of those questions for 'wearepeople'

1) Liquid fertilizer. Home depot sells just the right kind.
2) Use rooted cuttings. They work faster.
3) Yes take it easy on wartering during, before and after grafting. Also use superglue to hold the scion on there.
4) High humidity helps, but I have had success without too.
5) Give it some plants outside.
6) No, and a weak solution of H2O2 will get rif of it.

gimme a few..... very busy......im not retired yet.

and even if i was , the violet teks are going strong still on other forums.

were prepping cactus 6.0 , a mexicana tek, a galindoi tek, and poms 2.0.
were also working on a red spore and albino extravaganza......

expect the best, accept no substitutes for genuine "annie labs" teks in the new age!

* pic jaliscos go wild.
another species done violet tek style.........

Annie Halonium, Amazing, revolutionary work! I've never seen anything like it! A pleasure to read and view the HD pics, great post! :d

it appears the original pom thread is going STRONG.......
( see link first post)

peeps are getting outstanding results!

also note, there are variants to this.
many more experiments to some.......

Anne,

I'm wondering if there can be any 'bulk' version of the pom pom tek.

For example:

Instead of using 32 qt ziploc jars, using a single tub to hold the liquid substrate and several poms.

Would this work? Has it been tried? I'm curious what you mean when you say it's been done to scale.

I'm really interested in this I may try it soon - I will definitely give feedback if I do because I know Violet is interested in the 'beginner-friendly' aspect of it.

poms 2.0 is the scale version.

poms 2.0 wiil be published some time soon.

one of the the keys with poms is simple.
alot of stuff works.
many variations of poms are possible.
thats kinda the point.
with poms , you now have 3d fruitable agar.
and ,we know that fruits can grow at a distance from a water source.

as show here and in the still very active v tek threads,
essentially its a new sub alt.
so of course more poms more fruits.

this thread poms 1.0 , deals with the basics, and the theory behind it.
its as direct as presenting any new sub.
except this sub can be manipulated into shapes , and is easy prep.

we have been putting this stuff out in bits and pieces for yrs for a variety of reasons.
id like to see peeps understand this first , before i show the scale and the trix.
it appears from the response here and other forums, time is coming.

meantime,
gather your poms, your PP5 containers ( as seen in V-teks)
and agar /BRF /water/ ferts......
and begin experimenting with whats shown.

review the v teks, review the poms , here and other forums.
think about what your seeing...............

more to come on all of this fer sure.

I will - I'm so on board with you and violet. I really don't understand why there seems to be pushback from a few dramatic morons over at the shroomery.

What you and your team are doing is amazing for mycology. I'm interested in everything you guys do, and I will definitely be letting this forum know how my first invitro / violet tek / pom teks go. I'm excited to use your teks for my first agar work.

Perhaps I may even do some experimenting myself and try a scaled pom version in a tub with bulk substrate later on. The opportunities really do seem endless.

Thanks for all you do !

were here to present new and novel grow teks in the interest of education.

your getting it, next time more poms , less liquid.
surface area is the key on poms.

im most pleased.
fantastic.
ive seen about a dozen peeps results on 1.0

note the distance from the shroom on top to the waterline.
they can drink at a distance.............

ok peeps , review the updates on the v-tek thread here,
review the v tek agar thread also.
and gather supplies.
2.0 will give advantage to those who understand 1.0 , and have a head start.
the utility , will be apparent as things develop.

the original thread on " that other forum" is still posting things,
it appears several people are getting good results now.

stay tuned

alzabo what is the timeline on those pictures?

I inoculated 4 jars about 5-6 days ago and have no growth yet ;(

I'm wondering if I got the dreaded toxic scrubby.

Inoculated with amazonian multi-spore agar agar wedges - showed growth right away but took about a month to fully colonize at coolish temps. Pins showed up after every last nook and cranny had been colonized.

What did you inoculate with?

lets pom.......

annie has gone shopping for poms.
lets see what happens next..............

Snack tiem!
What happens when the agar agar is shook, exposing the previously hidden surface area?

The shook culture showed no further growth. Bacterial contamination suspected as there should have been plenty of nutrition to sustain further growth.

How are those poms coming, Annie? I can't wait to see!

alzabo,

how did your pom tek come out? i see that one good looking fruit, what else did you yield?

thoughts?

I got stuck with my pom tek as I encountered no growth at all. I noc'd some agar plates with the same syringe and also got no growth; not sure what happened. The first 6 cc's I used from that syringe were perfectly fine.

I have 4 clean agar plates ready for noc right now, and I plan to tissue clone from some of my last fruits. Other than that I'm out of mycelium until i get a new syringe.

Really wish my poms worked out.,,

I ate that one big fruit. There's another container with pom that pinned well but they are small fruits and not doing great.

Going to try poms again next time I do an agar batch. Thinking of omitting the sugar and yeast next time. Maybe adding fertz but that seems like changing too many variables at once.
Also less agar, more pom, yeah yah

I did some agar to grain jars and tried pouring a bit of grain back into my agar slush dish.
It got tric, then the mycelium encased the tric and pushed out a single large fruit. Didn't expect that...gonna eat that one too.

Trying to acquire more pp5-ware. Those off brand 16oz screw caps are nice but hard to come by.
Got some samples of off off brand 16oz containers that look nice, though they don't nest.:?

non-toxic scrubbies and a possible source of innoculant...
