so SWIM trtied this technique, and ended up with a black goo and the oil not seperating properly, any solution for this problem? guessing someone heated the mix too much, since before it got very hot the oil was a definete 2 layer easy defined seperation, now, barely any oil is gathering on top..any help the monkey would be rater happy to recieve...

It might be a problem of emulsion, in which case, as Eden said, adding more lye can help. Also check the FAQ as it has more tips.
It can also be that you made the solution too thick, so not only adding more lye but adding more water too might help making it less thick.
