Pre-powdered root bark question- Noman's Tek

Hello all.

Sorry if this was answered elsewhere. I've read alot of previous posts and used the search option...

For pre-powdered root bark in the STB Noman's tek it mentions that 1.5 to 2 times as much water will be needed.

Am I correct in assuming that this also means an equal amount more lye? If one just adds water it will reduce the PH, so I'm thinking both need to be increased.

even with prepowdered, 1:1:15 ratio of bark:lye:water is fine

you can use the following recipe:

Milk jug, 1 gallon
454g lye
454g MHRB

fill jug halfway, add lye (carefully)
add MHRB, shake.

Add enough water so that the water line is just below the top of the handle (keep room for naptha)
add naptha, shake, aspirate, freeze precip. SMOKE SPICE!
