Preciping DMT Hcl from decanted naptha

Swim wonders why this is not used. He doesn't have any Fumurate on hand, but plenty of Hcl. Would it be feasible to precipitate the Hcl salt of DMT from a slightly saturated solution of naphtha? Swim really can't see a reason why it wouldn't work, unless the DMT Hcl is soluble in the naptha. This way he can bypass the evap and pull the remainder of the spice from his jar after a freeze precip. He thanks you for your suggestions

Problem with most DMT salts including the (hydro)chloride you mention is that they are incredibly hygroscopic (absorbing water from the air). Not sure if you can precipitate DMT HCl or not, but if you do its not going to be too useful since once in the air it will absorb so much moisture as to become a puddle.

This method is one that SWIM is very experienced with and no longer used do to a few reasons.



1: all in all more materials and steps are used than simply freezer precipitating and re-using naptha.

2: The re-basification is a pain. Takes many seperations and junk

3: Although SWIM has only done this with Xylene and D-Limonene, he finds the HCl tends to pull more alkaloids than just DMT, so despite it being very strong, a large amount and many pulls are needed.

4: Through these steps it seems a large portion of the DMT oxidized in the yellow N-Oxides.

5: SWIM's recently posted lime A/B produces >.9% of *pure white freebase* easily and within a couple hours with less than 30 minutes of actual work, he sees no point in more complicated teks.
