Hi so i am baffled here as i believed my pc was complete stainless steel but after having a closer look to the specifications i realize that its stainless steel all but the base!
it reads:
Body made from 18/10 stainless steel
Aluminium sandwich base for even heat distribution!!!
here i was thinking i had a ss product which obviously isn't!
My first concern is i have already done 3 a/b with this cooker
I have only done the acid cooks in it but still apparently the acid cook will react with the aluminum and i have already tested these extracts. Hopefully i haven't done any harm to my health or my friends
It does say Aluminum sandwich base so i thought maybe the aluminum is literally sandwiched between stainless steel therefore none of the aluminum should be exposed to the acid?
I also find it weird that they would make these things from aluminum considering it will react with acid ie. put some vinegar in you pc to cook say silver side or pickling pork and bam you would be creating the reaction right there just cooking foods?
Can anyone please elaborate on this and if i should be using my pc for acid cooks?
EDIT: I am fairly positive the aluminum will not come in contact with the acid as it is sandwiched between SS but i would appreciate further acknowledgement of this?
Also doing a soak with methanol in my PC? would this be ok or can the methanol react with Stainless steel?
Kind Regards
