I think one question to consider is if the mushroom talks through you. Maybe there is no dialogue or interplay for some users. In my experience the drug, or in this case the mushroom, is given my body as a means to express itself.

 

Perhaps mushrooms experience a kind of perception of which we could never understand. Theirs is a life with experience, but it is completely alien and usually unknowable. I imagine this being the case for insects and plant life. There is no language that could connect us in communication.

 

Instead of holding dialogue, like verbal communication, we are given a demonstration of mushroom affected perception. In this experience we do not totally know what it is to be a mushroom, but we see the world and reality through its influence. In this sense the mushroom talks, or experiences through us.

 

It uses our mind as a means to examine the world with monkey tools. Ape consciousness. And vice versa, we dabble in a bit of mushroom affected perception. But with the hardware being human, the greatest influence on the show is born of our own programming.
