Psychoactive Honey ?

Migrated topic.

This is a video posted over on STS about a tribe who collect hallucinogenic honey. Pretty interesting watch, and beautiful scenery.

It's such a shame but the video is no longer available on YouTube :(

Bees collecting nectar from nightshades like Brugmansia and Datura make amazingly toxic honey from it.
Appearantly there are significant amounts of Scopolamine and/or atropine in the nectar.

This would be psychoactive, but if you know anything about nightshades and tropane alkaloids, you'd know
that consuming this honey is not advisable to say the least :p

Would be interresting to have bees make honey from various plants that have psychoactive compounds in the nectar.
I think I remember Shulgin, in TIHKAL, mentioning DMT being in the blossoms of lemontrees. Or it could have been from another source. But it would be interresting to try getting bees to make honey of this tree's nectar.

In my experience, as long as honey is kept cold and out of an oxidizing atmosphere as well as away from light, then psychoactive [tryptamine based in my experience] honey can be fascinated through a symbiotic relationship between homo sapiens and the fellow honey bee, IE mix your crude tryptamine extract into honey and store accordingly for a perfect tea time route of administration.
