Hello all,

I'm about to try the lime tek for the first time and as I don't have a good handle on what the consistency will be like, I'm wondering if adding NaCl to the near-boiling water that is added to the MHRB (in this case MHRB) along with the vinegar will produced any noticeable increase in yield.

Does the reduced fluid content of the lime tek make adding salt to the liquids you do use sort of irrelevant, since it won't circulate through the MHRB as much? Or do you think the salt will have an effect despite having a "paste" consistency?

I tried searching for an answer to this and didn't find anything in the archives.

Thanks.

Just follow the tech as it's written , it's use of lime is completely differant to Cybs salt TEK so I wouldn't change or add bits ! Good luck

Iirc, salt (NaCl) is not usefull when you process a dry tek.

I think it's coming from this thread but to early for me to check.:)

Hmm. Well, being the sort that likes to experiment, I added the NaCL to the vinegar & hot water bath portion anyway. We'll have to see on yields later. Didn't have time to mess with any pulls today.

Thanks for the replies. Just hoping the addition of the NaCl won't disrupt the extraction.
