Recrystallizing Oxidized DMT

Hey Nexians,
I recently decided to recrystallize some DMT I have had stored for awhile in hopes of growing some crystals. It used to be very white, but after a year of storage it was now an off white yellow color, assumed to be oxidation. Upon attempting to dissolve it all in heptane, an orange waxy substance seperated out and would not dissolve. Did my DMT likely have more impurities than I suspected all this time? Or is there some kind of by product created during the process of oxidizing over time? Any advice on if the orange wax may be active or worth utilizing in some way?

Impurities don't crawl in over time.

It's oxidizing or just spice taking on another form of it's polymorph portfolio, it can take on many forms, the oily or wax form is well known. I bet your oily wax form is quite potent! Warm naphtha might take the wax better but when crystallizing that you might find the oil again in the freezer tray.

If the oily wax doesn't go happily into the naphtha then you might try redissolving in acid doing an A/B all over again but that means pulling again too. This is no guarantee for all white result but it's the most intensive way to 'reset' the situation.
