The Nexian is a comprehensive review of current information regarding psychedelic plants and compounds, in both scientific and cultural contexts. This includes information regarding the identification, cultivation, extraction, and use of psychedelic substances, as well as their roles in ourselves and the world around us.

The Nexian strives to present only the most up-to-date, accurate, and well-researched information on psychedelics, from both sanctioned and underground sources. Your contributions are the lifeblood of the Nexian, without which it could not exist. Please do not hesitate to submit articles, information, or news for publication.

And remember, you can also submit art, music, trip reports, interesting threads, etc. for publication. Don't worry about grammar or spelling too much, as anything submitted will be proofed/edited prior to posting on the news site.

For those of you holding back simply because you couldn't find the 'Submit' button...just click any part of this massive link to be taken to the submissions page.

Thanks to everyone who has helped get the ball rolling on this incredible project!

Bump
back to active topics. :)

A bit of a tangent, but…

It’d be nice to have a link to The Nexian in the header nav (I know there is one in the sidebar in non-mobile view).

I like the flexibility of mobile view (I use it on the desktop), I moved over to the normal layout but I keep my browser window slim so I can’t see the sidebar most of the time and forget there’s anything there. I’ll probably move back to mobile view and won’t be reminded of its existence very often.

Firstly, GREAT WORK to all the contributors of the latest Nexian 2 E-zine.
It really is a professional piece of work that deserves a place in every news agency store.

What I would like to see in the next issue is a segment on Acacia's. :)

This would include:
* The main characteristic's used to identify them (phyllode, flowers, seed etc).
* The TOP 8 to grow worldwide(from nens post), possibly coupled with a grow guide (like Vodsel's post).
* Some information on various alkaloid profiles of different Acacia's and their effects.
* Some information on the history of Acacia usage in various cultures.

I can start working on the first and second item's tonight if this is worth including???

And I'm sure in the segment you would include a paragraph stressing the need for a responsible approach, with ethical and sustainability issues emphasized (I know you would include this, it must've just slipped off your train of thought when typing out your post).

It could make for a great read, although I think quite substantial? You propose to address a wide range of aspects (if you will be the sole author, having co-authors might have made my response a little different) not that there's anything wrong with that, but maybe you could condense it for a manuscript submission? For instance, take hostilis' article in issue 2 of the Nexian, that presents a practical guide to cacti cultivation. It has a focus on particular aspect of cacti, cultivation, and was structured accordingly.

I didn't intend to be negative about your proposal in anyway (sorry if it came across that way), and I think it has the potential to be fantastic article. You could write a very informative and educational piece, regardless if it is run in the Nexian, that many could benefit from.

You're EXACTLY right there colour.

I think this of utmost importance to get the message out there that twigs & phyllodes are the answer. This really needs to become "the norm" and common language whenever we are referring to harvesting Acacia's..

When I read the 2nd issue, I remember reading a section talking about ACRB, and I thought "I hope this doesn't make people just think of Acacia and Root Bark".

Thanks for bringing this to attention. I didn't necessarily want to put a section for extraction, but actually, it probably should include a point on harvesting sustainably and ethically.

No colour, I haven't taken any of your input negatively. They are all good points, and I appreciate your feedback.

You're right. It will need to be condensed and likely require some parts removed.

Maybe something along the lines of:

* A quick intro about Acacia's containing various alkaloid profile.
* Top 8 Acacia's to grow worldwide, with some general tips on growing them.
* The main 3 things to look for when ID'ing Acacias (phyllodes, flowers, seeds), with an emphasis of the point that it's better harvesting twigs & phyllodes than bark.

EDIT:
* Some information on the history of Acacia usage in various cultures.
There's probably an entire book of content ALONE on this from Nen. Though would be nice to mention a sentence or referral to more information

I just realized this thread if for the Nexian News Site, not the Nexian E-zine.,... sorry...
Gotta stop late night typing

I think I would like to try submitting something to the Nexian, I was just wondering what having a login on the Nexian would help with. I tried putting in my name and password for the DMT Nexus, thinking that it might be linked, but it didn't work. Also to submit a contribution, it has a required link for an email address there, is there a way I can link to my dmt-nexus inbox on this as the email. Im hoping there is a way to do this. I'd prefer to keep my contributions to this as tight as possible, without putting in an outside email address for the Nexian. Thanks.

The login is just for editors. On the submissions page, you don't have to enter in a valid email address if you don't want to. Just write whatever name you want (or your forum username) :)

The link here is http only, which suggests to me that it's essentially defunct. Do we have any further status updates for this?
